Publix to open in Orlando’s Packing District next year
ORLANDO, Fla. — Dr. Phillips Charities, the builder behind the $700-million Packing District project in Orlando, announced on Wednesday that a Publix will occupy the supermarket space in the Packing District. The 27,512 square foot store will be located at the northeast corner of Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail. Construction begins on 66-acre park at Orlando’s Packing District
ORLANDO, Fla. – Local leaders came out to Orlando’s new Packing District Thursday to commemorate the start of construction of what will be a 66-acre park that will help transform what once was a predominant industrial area. The park will be located along Princeton Street near John Young Parkway and Orange Blossom Trail. The space will also house Orlando’s Tennis Centre featuring more than a dozen new courts, plus walking and biking trails. Crews outside continue to redevelop Princeton Street down to four lanes of traffic. Dyer told News 6 he expects the park to be completed sometime during summer 2021.
John Rivers bringing 40-acre farm to Orlando's Packing District
ORLANDO, Fla. - A Central Florida businessman is planting roots near Orlando's Packing District and unveiling plans to build a 40-acre farm in the urban area. John Rivers, the founder and CEO of 4 Rivers Restaurant Group, said his vision has been more than three years in the making. The farm, called 4 Roots Campus, is a 40-acre working farm near John Young Parkway and Princeton Street. It's located near Orlando's Packing District. Rivers said all of the food that will be produced on the farm will go back into Orange County schools.
