Not sure about you, but I haven’t seen a good dose of rain in some time at my house, but a much more unsettled weather pattern is looking to set up by the weekend.

CRUNCH, CRUNCH... Is that your lawn? 🌿☀️

Hi there—I’m Meteorologist Michelle Morgan with you. Central Florida has been stuck in a serious dry spell. We’re talking weeks of relentless sunshine, no humidity, and lawns that sound more like potato chips than grass. If your plants are looking parched and your sprinkler system is working overtime, you’re not imagining it—it’s dry out there.

But here’s the good news: relief may finally be on the horizon. Rain is in the weekend forecast, and it could be just what your yard has been waiting for. Click here for the details.

May has arrived! The home stretch to the hurricane season begins

Welcome back to your News 6 Weather Team Newsletter! Digital Meteorologist David Nazario back to point out how FAST time is swooping by! We’ve officially reached May 1st. It’s hard to personally wrap my mind around the fact that we’re already nearly halfway through 2025.

This ALSO means the fateful arrival of our next Atlantic hurricane season is approaching just as quickly. Are you fully prepared for the unexpected, as the tropics prepare themselves to slowly unveil exactly what it is they intend to toss our way?

If not, we’ve got fantastic news for you today. Central Florida will be hosting a variety of county-by-county events to help you prepare your home and loved ones for whatever may try to head towards our beautiful sunshine state during the six months of hurricane season. Today, meteorologist Michelle Morgan and I had the privilege of attending the Seminole County Chamber’s hurricane expo, where we heard a plethora of quality information from Mr. Alan Harris of the Seminole County Emergency Management team.

All the briefing material can be found recorded over on their YouTube channel, which you can listen in if you click HERE.

Coming right up next, we have the Osceola County event “Before the Storm.” There are plenty more ahead as well as we all count down to the calendar commencement of hurricane season.
