ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s Chief Meteorologist Candace Campos here, and after a week of rainy weather, the summer see-saw is swinging back in the other direction! 🌧️➡️🔥

Let’s break down what you can expect in the coming days:

🌧️ Rain Totals Are In, But Heat Is On the Way

We picked up some solid rain earlier this week thanks to a weak disturbance passing through Central Florida. But now that system is moving out, and it’s making way for something very different: a large, hot dome of high pressure.

That means drier air is moving in! And with it, a lot less of that rain-cooled relief. The headline for the weekend is HEAT.

🥵 Heat Safety

Sure, we’re used to the heat and humidity here in Central Florida, but this weekend’s temperatures will still be dangerously high.

If you’re planning any outdoor fun, don’t forget to:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Take cooling breaks
