The countdown to peak hurricane season is drawing to the end
Hereās what to expect!
Welcome back to your newsletter Central Florida, meteorologist David Nazario with the latest on what we can expect for the upcoming month of September. First off, does it feel weird to anyone else weāre already talking about Fall, September, peak hurricane season? Anyone else SPOOKED by the Halloween decorations already going up at grocery stores?
September is only a few days away, and per the calendar we hit the official peak of the tropical Atlantic season on the 10th of the month. Right now, things are generally quiet. It looks like much of the basin will remain in a bit of a lull until shortly after the 10th. Most of the environment out across the ocean is forecast to look fairly hostile for anything that may try to start spinning. However, thereās a switch expected to flip right after we roll through the 10th, and especially after the infamous 9/11 anniversary.
How busy could it get? How many named storms will we pump out come the true peak? Lastly, we canāt forget how many will possibly head our way? Itās still a little early to say, but you can get the current low-down HERE. If you have any questions, donāt hesitate to reach out! I will be updating the long-range forecast over the coming days.
