As Candace just mentioned, the humidity has returned.
Whatâs going on guys, meteorologist Jonathan Kegges back with you. Last weekend was that little morsel of fall but even as the soupy air has crept back into Central Florida, I am here to tell you we have reached a milestone.
Sept. 18 marks the last time the Orlando area averages a high temperature of 90 degrees. Now, it, of course, can still get hotter than 90 as we head into the months ahead but from average perspective, the temperature is falling.
The average high drops to 89 degrees in Orlando on Sept. 19.
Cooler days are ahead, friends.

Welcome back to your News 6 Weather Insider newsletter everyone, meteorologist David Nazario here talking my bread and butter once more: the hurricane season! But, it hasnât quite felt like the hurricane season in recent days, has it? Things have been abnormally quiet, thanks to a number of different hostile ingredients coming together all at once across the Atlantic.
The peak of the hurricane season per our calendars came and went on Sept. 10. Why are we so behind in terms of overall activity?
You can find out all the details and my latest take on the rest of peak season HERE, alongside my video breaking down all the parameters over on our YouTube channel.
Weâll see how much longer this quiet spell lasts. I am confident toward the last two weeks of this month that things will start to ramp up. How much? Stick with us to find out.
