Let’s talk fog. It’s been seriously thick lately, with dense fog advisories in place across parts of the state. Cool mornings + warmer afternoons + light winds + plenty of moisture around Florida = the perfect fog formula.

Are we about to shift from “Florida winter” to actual winter? ❄️

Hi, it’s Meteorologist David Nazario. Next week, we could see the tables turn as winter’s true arrival finally starts to show itself.

Now, don’t worry — we’re not talking about a plunge into freezing or subfreezing temperatures right away with this next push of polar air. But that’s actually part of the story. Because it’s not an extreme blast, it may have a better chance of sticking around a little longer.

I like to think of it in car terms: a high-horsepower race car can blaze around the track, but only for so long before something overheats or breaks and it has to pull into the pits. A lower-horsepower, well-tuned setup, though, can keep circling that same track much longer because it’s built to be steady and durable.

Florida loses its lightning crown ⚡
