ORLANDO, Fla. – Hi Insider — Chief Meteorologist Candace Campos here. Central Florida stays on the warm side of a very active winter storm pattern setting up from Texas through the Carolinas and farther north. That means we’re holding onto above-average warmth this weekend, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, and a few spots could even flirt with record highs by Sunday.

By late Sunday into Monday, attention shifts to a strong and potentially disruptive winter storm expected to impact parts of the Deep South, Ohio Valley, and Mid-Atlantic, bringing changes as we head into next week. Click here for the full forecast.

First up, the Orlando Science Center is unveiling a brand-new astronaut exhibit this weekend, running through early May. Ever wondered what it’s really like to be an astronaut? This is your chance to find out.
There’s also another fun event happening outside at the Orlando Science Center at Loch Haven Park on Saturday. While you enjoy samples from 30 local brewers, the kids can dive into interactive science demos—or you can challenge your friends to a game of cornhole or giant Jenga.

Hurricane Hunters to investigate a storm system that could bring snow to the south ❄️
Hi there — Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges here. Believe it or not, there’s no off-season for the Hurricane Hunters. When the tropics quiet down, they stay busy with training missions, research flights, and even investigating powerful winter storms.
After an Arctic blast pushed much of Central Florida to freezing temperatures or colder, another system is now taking shape that could bring snow to parts of the Southeast—including the Florida Panhandle. Click here to read more.
