Whenever alligators and cold weather gets brought up, images of gators submerged in water with their noses above the ice come to mind.

Those scenes are typical for gators living farther north or in Texas.

Hello theme park fanatics. Itโ€™s Haley.

This week, Gatorland shared insights on how alligators cleverly handle cold temperatures. With lows expected in the 20s and wind chills even colder this weekend, alligators will spend more time in the water and enter into a hibernation-like state.

Though they may seem sluggish during chilly spells, this behavior is their natural way of coping until warmer weather arrives.

Even with the rare cold snap, winter is a good time to a spin on the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive as you might find a few gators soaking up any sort of warmth the sun is willing to provide.

Mr. Snuffleupagus will stay snug during this unusual cold snap thanks to his warm, fluffy fur.

I visited SeaWorld on Sunday for its Kids Weekend and made sure to meet Snuffy. Heโ€™ll be at Sesame Street Land through Tuesday when the park celebrates Elmoโ€™s birthday.

Weedy sea dragons (Disney Parks)

A couple weeks ago, I caught up with Dr. Geoff Pye, animal operations director at Walt Disney World during my behind-the-scenes look at the Seas with Nemo & Friends.

During our chat about the pavilionโ€™s 40-year legacy, Pye enthusiastically shared that new friends were arriving from his home country of Australia.

Special chillers were installed in their habitat and this week Disney confirmed that weedy seadragons are now on display.

Dearly beloved DINOSAUR, fans will no doubt gather at Disneyโ€™s Animal Kingdom this weekend, for one last journey back to the Cretaceous era.

Wait times have been average for the dark ride, but with Sunday being the last day of operation, the waits will likely jump starting Saturday.

This week, Universal Orlandoโ€™s Team Member Instagram account boosted the campaign for the first Universal Orlando license plate.

The plate needs 3,000 presales before it can be manufactured and it has less than a year left to reach that goal.

The account shared a photo of the plate seen in the photo above. Every plate purchase will benefit Give Kids The World Village.
