While the beach is a hotspot for spring break, don’t rule out the waterparks.
Aloha, friends. It’s Haley, voice of In the Loop: Theme Park Scoops.
Aquatica Orlando is turning spring weekends into a mini island getaway with Aloha to Summer.
I got to check it out this past Sunday. Every event kicks off with a festive lei and a free sip on arrival. Expect splashy dance parties, family games, rotating island-style experiences, and new food and cocktails that taste like spring break.
I also loved having a cabana as a comfy home base—definitely worth considering if you’re wrangling little ones.
One other thing worth noting is the extra VIP-style perks for pass members, as there are extra perks during Aloha to Summer, like more ride time on Tassie’s Underwater Twist and a dedicated entrance.
If you haven’t checked out my Aloha to Summer guide yet, you can do so by clicking here. I also added more visuals since my visit.
SeaWorld Orlando
A sea of runners 👟
SeaWorld Orlando has packaged two crowd-pleasing 5Ks into its official 2026 run series, giving runners chances to race through the park and enjoy seasonal festival perks.
Registration is open for the Seven Seas Food Festival 5K in April and for the after-dark Howl-O-Sprint 5K in September with costumed characters and spooky surprises.
Universal Orlando
Night swimming 🥽
Universal’s Volcano Bay Nights returns this summer, turning the award‑winning water park into a moonlit playground.
Running select nights, guests can expect shorter lines, themed entertainment, and exclusive snacks.
Walt Disney World
To a million... and beyond 🎯
New hand-held blasters and lit-up targets sound like fun improvements, but what excites me most about the refreshed Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is that there is no cap on points.
In my interview with Walt Disney Imagineering this week, I asked about the ranking system and the pivotal Galactic Hero status.
It won’t be long before we can board the intergalactic mission, as Disney just announced Space Ranger Spin’s reopening date.
Bluey news ‼️
Spring has us thinking about summer at Walt Disney World.
Disney announced the return of its Cool Kids Summer celebration this week, and the kick-off also marks the debut of Bluey and Bingo at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and updates on the attraction.
What was once the Affection Section will now be Jumping Junction. Disney said the new animal encounter will have animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia. Based on the name, it sure seems like there will be kangaroos and/or wallabies around.
As always, keep me in the loop through my email or reach out to me on X or Instagram.
See you next week.
