Apopka High football player's State Championship ring stolen

Bag stolen on Wekiva Ridge Road this weekend

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A former Apopka High School football player is working to find the person who stole his championship football ring.

Dimetri King said he was at a pool party over the weekend at a home on Wekiva Ridge Road when someone stole his backpack.

His 2014 State Champion ring earned while playing for the Apopka Blue Darters was inside the bag.

“It means so much to me ‘cause I worked so hard for it,” King said. “I don't care about nothing else, I just want the ring ‘cause it means the most to me.”

King’s mother, Michelle King, posted to Facebook asking anyone one with information to come forward to help him get his prized possession back.

There is a reward being offered for the ring’s return, and Michelle King said no questions will be asked.

The backpack is a black Dickies brand bag and contained Jordan flip flops, a gold horseshoe ring, a gold watch and the Apopka High School Blue Darter State Championship ring.
