The Bills-Chiefs showdown at Arrowhead Stadium resumed after a weather delay of about an hour with Buffalo leading 24-13 to start the second half.
About half the crowd of 70,000 fans stuck out the weather delay, which dumped plenty of rain on the field. But many were in their cars and lined up at the parking lot exits as Harrison Butker kicked off to start the second half.
The teams were rushing to get the final two quarters in with more bad weather in the forecast.

The Bills and Chiefs are returning to the field and their Sunday night game at Arrowhead Stadium is scheduled to resume at 10:15 p.m. local time after a delay of more than an hour due to lightning and heavy rain.
The Bills lead 24-13 in a rematch of the AFC title game won by the Chiefs.
There were a few showers early in the game, but it wasn’t until the teams headed to the locker room that lightning began and the rain picked up. By the time is slowed down and players began to peek out of the tunnel, there were huge puddles in the corners of the field, though the playing surface itself looked to be in good shape.

10:10 p.m.
The game between the Bills and Chiefs on Sunday night went into a weather delay with about five minutes left before the start of the second half and Buffalo leading 24-13 at Arrowhead Stadium.
There were brief showers earlier in the half, and the forecast called for storms to develop throughout the night. But they appeared to be holding off until the teams headed for the locker room and lightning lit up the sky.
The Bills specialists, who were warming up on the field, were pulled into the tunnel. And the scoreboards at each end of the stadium instructed fans to seek shelter in the Arrowhead Stadium concourses.

7:40 p.m.
Arizona remains unbeaten, but the most pulsating game of the late afternoon session was the Chargers' 47-42 win over Cleveland.
Justin Herbert threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns, and Los Angeles overcame two missed extra points in a back-and-forth victory. The Chargers trailed 3-0, 10-7, 27-13, 35-28 and 42-35 but ultimately came out on top.
The Cardinals held off San Francisco 17-10 to improve to 5-0, Chicago beat Las Vegas 20-9 and Dallas beat the Giants 44-20.

7:15 p.m.
Some big names will be missing from the Buffalo and Kansas City defenses when the Bills play the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday night in a rematch of the AFC championship game.
The Bills are once again missing linebacker Matt Milano in the middle of their defense as they try to slow down Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs offense. He’s out again with a hamstring injury.
The Chiefs are down defensive tackle Chris Jones with a wrist injury and cornerback Charvarius Ward with a quad injury.
It’s also worth noting that Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon is active. The former All-Pro joined the team last week after the NFL cleared him to play following his sixth suspension.

The Bears’ defense kept the Raiders’ high-scoring offense out of the end zone through three quarters in Las Vegas, and Chicago still leads 14-9 in the fourth.
Chicago led 14-3 after a scoreless third quarter at Allegiant Stadium. Then Las Vegas finally scored a touchdown on a short run by Josh Jacobs. The Raiders had the NFL’s second-ranked passing offense entering the game, but Derek Carr has thrown for just 177 yards.
Carr also returned to the game after getting shaken up on a head hit during a quarterback sneak.

Baker Mayfield threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to David Njoku with 10:40 remaining in the fourth quarter, and a 2-point conversion put Cleveland up 35-28 in a wild matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Mayfield is 18 of 22 for 271 yards and two touchdowns, and Nick Chubb has rushed for 129 yards and a TD for the Browns. Cleveland scored 17 unanswered points to go ahead 27-13, only for the Chargers to score 15 in a row before Njoku's touchdown.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been ruled out against the Dallas Cowboys after sustaining a concussion in the first half.
Jones was taken off on a cart after looking woozy following a hit near the goal line as he was trying to score on a bootleg. Jones and Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox collided as Jones ended up less than a yard short of the goal line. Jones tried to get up twice, the second time stumbling before others rushed to keep him upright.

6:10 p.m.
The Arizona Cardinals have a 10-0 third-quarter lead over the San Francisco 49ers as they try to improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1974.
The Cardinals – who are the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team – have made life difficult for 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance in his first pro start.
The 21-year-old Lance is playing in place of Jimmy Garoppolo, who is inactive because of a calf injury.
Lance threw an interception on his first drive, sailing a high pass beyond the intended receiver and right into the hands of Arizona safety Budda Baker. The Cardinals converted the takeaway into a touchdown eight plays later to grab a 7-0 lead.
Lance was also stopped on two fourth-down runs, including one that was just inches shy of a touchdown.

6:05 p.m.
Justin Fields has thrown his first career touchdown pass, and the Chicago Bears lead 14-3 in their Las Vegas debut.
Chicago controlled the ball for nearly 18 ½ minutes of the first half, including a 16-play drive TD that consumed more than half of the second quarter.
Fields found Jesper Horsted for a 2-yard TD to cap the Bears’ first scoring drive. The rookie quarterback from Ohio State played in each of the Bears’ first five games, but finally got his first TD pass in his third career start.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been taken off on a cart after looking woozy following a hit near the goal line as he was trying to score on a bootleg against Dallas.
Jones and Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox collided as Jones ended up less than a yard short of the goal line. Jones tried to get up twice, the second time stumbling before others rushed to keep him upright.
After a brief evaluation, the cart came out and took Jones to the New York locker room.
Mike Glennon replaced Jones, and his first snap of the season was a handoff to Devontae Booker for a tying 1-yard touchdown on fourth down.
Booker is filling in for running back Saquon Barkley, who was ruled out after an ankle injury in the first quarter.
The Cowboys and Giants are playing again on the same field a day before the anniversary of Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott’s severe ankle injury.

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has been ruled out in the first half against the Dallas Cowboys with a left ankle injury.
The injury happened when Barkley stepped on Dallas cornerback Jourdan Lewis’ foot on a play away from the ball. TV footage showed significant swelling on the ankle.
Barkley missed all but two games last year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The fourth-year back was coming off his first game of the season with more than 100 scrimmage yards.
Before the injury, Barkley carried twice for 9 yards.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was taken to the hospital as a precaution after suffering a throat contusion in the 25-22 overtime loss to the Packers.
The team said he was having trouble speaking after the game because of the injury.
Burrow, who is playing with a surgically repaired left knee, was knocked down hard in the second quarter by Green Bay defensive end Dean Lowry and stayed on the ground for several minutes before walking off on his own power.
The Bengals punted, but Burrow returned on the next drive and threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase. He didn’t miss a snap the rest of the game.

The Los Angeles Chargers lead Cleveland 13-10 in the second quarter thanks to the longest reception of Mike Williams' career.
Justin Herbert threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Williams early in the second. Williams blew past Cleveland cornerback A.J. Green, caught the ball at the Browns 32 and had a clear path to the end zone. It is the longest reception of Williams' career and Herbert’s third touchdown throw of at least 70 yards. Los Angeles’ Tristan Vizcaino missed the extra point for the third time this season.

The Raiders’ first-quarter scoring woes continued.
Las Vegas had a touchdown taken off the board by a penalty before kicking a short field goal, and the Raiders now trail Chicago 7-3. The Raiders failed to score on their opening drive for the 11th consecutive game, but reached the Chicago 3 on their second drive before Josh Jacobs’ TD was wiped out by the third of Vegas’ four penalties in the first quarter.
Las Vegas has scored only eight points in the first quarter all season.

Dak Prescott is back in the same stadium against the same opponent, a day before the anniversary of the star Dallas quarterback’s severe ankle injury.
Prescott and Cowboys are at home against the New York Giants. The compound fracture and dislocation of Prescott’s right ankle in Week 5 last year came on a tackle by defensive back Logan Ryan, who also is returning to the scene of the injury. The first snap for Dallas wasn’t far from where Prescott went down, and he threw an interception on fourth down near midfield to stop the first drive.
The Cowboys rallied last year behind then-backup Andy Dalton for a 37-34 victory in front of a pandemic-limited crowd. Prescott is playing with more than 90,000 fans at AT&T Stadium for the third consecutive game.
Dallas is on a three-game winning streak since losing to defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay in the opener. The Giants are coming off their first victory.

Mason Crosby finally connected from 49 yards in overtime, giving the Green Bay Packers a 25-22 victory over Cincinnati after both kickers wasted multiple chances to win it.
Crosby missed from 36 yards with 2:12 left in regulation, then Evan McPherson missed from 57 with 21 seconds left. Crosby missed from 51 on the final play of regulation.
Crosby missed again from 40 in overtime, but McPherson missed from 49, giving Green Bay the ball back.
Other games that went down to the wire:
— Greg Joseph's 54-yard field goal on the final play gave Minnesota a 19-17 win over Detroit. The Lions lost by that exact same score a couple weeks ago when Baltimore's Justin Tucker made a 66-yard field goal. This time Detroit took the lead with a touchdown and 2-point conversion with 37 seconds left.
— New England came all the way back to beat Houston 25-22 on Nick Folk's 21-yard field goal with 15 seconds left.
— James Pierre's interception in the end zone enabled Pittsburgh to hold off Denver 27-19.
Other final scores: Philadelphia rallied past Carolina 21-18, New Orleans beat Washington 33-22, Tennessee beat Jacksonville 37-19, and Tampa Bay routed Miami 45-17.

Just another routine 400-yard, five-touchdown day for Tom Brady.
Brady has thrown for 411 yards and five TDs, and Tampa Bay leads Miami 45-17 in the fourth quarter. The Buccaneers have a chance to take over sole possession of first place in the NFC South if Carolina loses. The Panthers are clinging to an 18-13 lead against Philadelphia.

The Cincinnati Bengals have pulled even with Green Bay in a matchup of division leaders.
Joe Mixon's 8-yard scoring run with 3:27 remaining capped a 75-yard drive, and the Bengals converted a 2-point conversion to tie the game at 22.
Joe Burrow has thrown for 230 yards and two touchdowns, enabling Cincinnati to stay right with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

New England still trails Houston 22-15 after failing to take full advantage of an embarrassing gaffe by the Texans.
Cameron Johnston's punt bounced off the back of teammate Terrence Brooks for zero yards, giving the Patriots the ball at the Houston 36, but New England settled for Nick Folk's 52-yard field goal that made it 22-12.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is done for the day after a shoulder injury in the second quarter against Denver.
Smith-Schuster was injured after getting tackled by Broncos safety Kareem Jackson during a 3-yard end around. This is the second time this season Smith-Schuster has been injured during a game. He injured his ribs in a loss to Las Vegas last month.
The injury leaves the Steelers without two of their top four receivers. James Washington was inactive Sunday due to a groin injury.
The Steelers still lead Denver 17-6 in the third quarter.

The Panthers lead the Eagles 15-6 in the third quarter behind a defense that continues to be strong in the first half of home games.
Carolina’s defense has allowed just 235 yards, 14 points and six points in the first half of three home games. Carolina won its previous two home games against the Jets and Saints.
It what has been a bit of surprise, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has only two carries for 4 yards. He's completed 16 passes but those have gone for only 85 yards.

Davis Mills has thrown three touchdown passes, and the Houston Texans lead New England 22-9 in the third quarter.
The Texans caught a break in the second quarter when New England's Damien Harris fumbled near the goal line, taking a scoring chance away from the Patriots.
Mills is 13 of 17 for 239 yards, and New England's Mac Jones is 12 of 18 for 125 yards with an interception.

Jameis Winston connected with Marquez Callaway on a 49-yard Hail Mary touchdown at the end of the first half to give New Orleans a 20-13 lead on Washington. There were 8 seconds on the clock when Winston snapped the ball, and he lofted it into a crowd in the end zone.
Callaway came down with the ball for Winston’s second TD throw of the game. The Saints go into the second half without Taysom Hill, who was injured on a hit to the head while trying to catch a pass, and receiver Deonte Harris, who is questionable with a hamstring issue. Hill has been ruled out with a concussion

The NFL's last two winless teams aren't doing much to change that so far.
The Jacksonville Jaguars trail Tennessee 24-13 at halftime, and the Detroit Lions are down 13-6 at Minnesota.
The Jaguars have held Derrick Henry to 31 yards on 11 carries, but he did score on a 1-yard run — part of a 17-point second quarter for the Titans.

Kickers are having a tough time early this Sunday.
There have already been seven missed extra points across the league, with Houston’s Ka’imi Fairbairn faring the worst by missing both of his PAT attempts.
Fairbairn made his season debut last week after opening the year on the injured reserve but did not have any extra point tries as the Texans were blanked 40-0. On Sunday his first attempt sailed wide right, and his second miss was wide left against the Patriots.
It is the second time in franchise history that the Texans have missed two extra points in a game and the first since Fairbairn also missed two in a 27-20 loss to the Falcons on Oct. 6, 2019.
There have been three missed PATs in Houston. Nick Folk also missed the extra point on a touchdown by New England in the second quarter.
The first miss Sunday came in London when Matt Ammendola’s attempt for the New York Jets hit the left upright in the third quarter of their loss to Atlanta.
Matthew Wright hit the right upright for a miss in the first quarter for the Jaguars against the Titans and Mason Crosby’s attempt in the second quarter for the Packers against the Bengals clanged off the left upright.
Cody Parkey missed for New Orleans at Washington.

New Orleans’ Taysom Hill was taken off the field on a cart after a hit to the head from Washington’s William Jackson III while trying to catch a pass. Hill was grabbing his head while down on the field. Jackson was flagged for a personal foul.
Hill, the quarterback the Saints use in different roles, had one catch before being injured early in the second quarter. Hill has three rushing touchdowns this season.
The Saints and Washington are tied at 13.

Washington finally stopped an opponent from scoring on the opening drive of a game, but things are never boring for its defense that has failed to live up to expectations so far this season.
Cole Holcomb intercepted New Orleans quarterback Jameis Winston on a poorly thrown pass under pressure. On the next Saints possession, Winston found Deonte Harris wide open for a 72-yard touchdown -- the longest of each player’s NFL career. Reigning defensive rookie of the year Chase Young picked up his first sack on the next Saints drive and forced a fumble by Winston that was recovered by Washington’s Daron Payne.
New Orleans leads 7-6.

Tight end Sammis Reyes is active for Washington against New Orleans and is set to become the first Chilean player to appear in an NFL game.
A converted basketball player who moved to the U.S. as a teenager, Reyes only started playing football earlier this year. He went through the NFL International Player Pathway Program and earned a three-year contract with Washington, his “dream team” because his girlfriend and her family live in the area.
Reyes was inactive for the first four games of the season and gets this chance after Logan Thomas landed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Coach Ron Rivera has repeatedly called Reyes a big part of the team’s future.

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is active and one of his favorite targets is too for Sunday’s visit to Pittsburgh.
Bridgewater will start after exiting last week’s loss to Baltimore due to a concussion. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton is also active despite being listed as questionable after turning an ankle in practice on Friday.
Elsewhere, the Minnesota Vikings are holding star running back Dalvin Cook out for a second time in three games due to a sprained ankle. Cook was listed as questionable to play against Detroit. He had nine carries last week in a loss to Cleveland, splitting time in the backfield with Alexander Mattison. Cook didn’t play two weeks ago in a win over Seattle, after getting hurt in the team’s second game at Arizona.
Cook had a career-high 206 yards rushing last year against the Lions.

The NFL has returned to London after a one-year hiatus. The Atlanta Falcons face the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a matchup of 1-3 teams.
London hasn't been kind to rookie quarterbacks. They are 0-4 in the English capital since the NFL started staging regular-season games there in 2007.
Jets QB Zach Wilson wants to change that by building on his success in New York's 27-24 overtime win against the Tennessee Titans last week.
Falcons counterpart Matt Ryan will be without top receiver Calvin Ridley as the team tries to bounce back from a 34-30 loss to the Washington Football Team.
It was 63 degrees Fahrenheit and partly cloudy ahead of the 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
