The Orlando Pride couldn’t dig themselves out of a big hole on Sunday against the Chicago Red Stars.

The Pride (2-1-2, 7 points) fell behind by three goals, and despite two late tallies, suffered a 4-2 defeat to Chicago at Exploria Stadium.

Sarah Griffin scored in the 11th minute, Bianca St. Georges in the 54th minute and Mallory Pugh in the 64th minute to give Chicago (2-0-1, 7 points) a 3-0 lead.

Amy Turner scored in the 83rd minute to put the Pride on the board, but Pugh answered a minute later to make it 4-1 Chicago.

A goal by Leah Pruitt in the 87th minute for Orlando rounded out the scoring.

Next up for the Pride is a home contest against the Washington Spirit at 7 p.m. Friday at Exploria Stadium.
