Osceola Magic hold ribbon ceremony, show off new court in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Osceola Magic, the NBA G-League affiliate to the Orlando Magic, held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday to show off the new court and locker rooms ahead of the season home opener on Nov. 16.

Formerly the Lakeland Magic, the Osceola Magic will now play at the Silver Spurs Arena in Osceola Heritage Park.

“We’re really excited about being here in Osceola County,” Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said. “They’ve welcomed us with open arms. All the repairs and enhancements that they have made to the facility for us have been outstanding.”

The new facilities include a new court, new players locker room and workspace for front-office staff.

“It’s just been a real welcoming time for us,” Martins added.

Being the NBA G-League affiliate to the Orlando Magic allows players, front-office staff and trainers to work their way up to the NBA level. Players can gain more experience on the court or use it to recover from injuries. Staff members and trainers use the experience before moving up to the next level.

On opening night. the first 1,000 fans will receive a replica Osceola Magic jersey. Tickets can be found here.
