New pro volleyball team The Valkyries starts inaugural season on Friday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Valkyries, a new professional volleyball team, came into News 6 to talk about the upcoming new volleyball season.

The Orlando Valkyries are one of seven new teams in the new Pro Volleyball Federation, a professional indoor volleyball league in the United States. Each team has 14 players per roster and 24 games in the season, 12 home and 12 away.

The Valkyries have a wide range of players, from former Olympian and All-American Aury Cruz to recent UCF grad Abby Hansen.

Orlando starts the 2024 season at home onFriday, Jan. 26, at Addition Financial Arena at UCF. The Valkyries will host the Atlanta Vibe at 7 p.m.
