WTNTER PARK, Fla. – Emma Hartung has battle back from a knee injury, but you wouldn’t be able to tell on the softball field.
The junior catcher and utility player has been tearing it up at the plate for Trinity Prep. She’s hitting nearly .500 for the season and leads the team in home runs, RBI and stolen bases.
“I love catching; I just get the ball every play,” Hartung told News 6. “I love catching it and receiving it and throwing people out and taking control and being a leader on the field.
Hartung is looking forward to getting back to full strength and playing as catcher full-time.
“I’ve caught for a while, so a lot of it is just natural for me now,” Hartung said. “I think on long hot summer days and game after game in the gear, but I love it.”
