ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando will be at the center of the soccer universe in a matter of weeks as one of 11 American host cities of FIFA’s Club World Cup.
The event features 32 of the best professional soccer teams worldwide, including Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid, plus Brazilian sides Flamengo and Fluminense, and MLS clubs Inter Miami and LAFC.
Stars like Leo Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Luke Modric, and Vinicius Junior will try to lead their clubs to the biggest share of the tournament’s $1 billion purse.
Of the 11 host cities, FIFA chose only Orlando to present matches at two venues. Inter&Co Stadium and Camping World Stadium will host six matches, beginning June 17 through July 4.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently sat down with News 6 Sports Director Jamie Seh and told her, “FIFA loves Orlando.”
