ORLANDO, Fla. – Though nothing is guaranteed, the UCF Men’s Basketball team is primed to make the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history and for the first time since 2019. The Knights will find out their tournament fate on Sunday between 6 - 7 pm, when invitations to the “Big Dance” are extended and the brackets are revealed.
Despite 21 regular season victories, including wins over nationally ranked Kansas, Texas Tech, and BYU, UCF entered the Big 12 Tournament as a “bubble” team. The Knights’ 66-65 victory in overtime against Cincinnati in the Big 12 Second Round likely pushed Coach Johnny Dawkins’ team into the field of 68. It would be UCF’s first bid to the NCAA Tournament as a member of the Big 12.
