If UCF wins, this will give the team its seventh bowl win in program history and second consecutive victory after the Knights defeated Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl. For the first time in school history, UCF has updated its new football alcohol policy to allow alcohol to be sold stadium-wide for guests. While this may be a big change that Knight fans will be excited for, FBC Mortgage Stadium will still have restrictions on their alcohol policy at upcoming games. Drinks from outside FBC Mortgage stadium are prohibited and guests who attempt to bring in outside alcohol be under penalty of ejection, arrest or ticket revocation. The Knights entered Sunday’s game against the Ospreys to determine the winner of the series. After a scoreless eighth inning, it came down to the ninth inning to determine the game. It came down to the Knights to score and win the game and series at the bottom of the ninth inning. With the win, the Knights finished the weekend series 3-1 over the Ospreys to improve to 6-9 overall for the season.

Seminole County Superintendent Dr. Walt Griffin made the announcement this week in a video to families. Griffin said school leadership officials have been working since November to try and find a better solution for graduations amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In February, Seminole County parents were notified that their high school seniors’ graduations would be in the auditorium like the year before and students would be required to reserve graduation time slots. Seminole County high schools executive director Mike Gaudreau said the district also looked at using the Amway Center, but it was already booked for Orange County Public Schools events.

The UCF Knights looked to turn things around after two losses as they hosted the undefeated Stetson Hatters at John Euliano park Tuesday night but fell 7-0 in the first midweek game of the season. The start of the game foreshadowed a bleak evening for UCF as Stetson got out to a red hot start with a 4-0 lead by the bottom of the first inning. The Knights’ collected four hits at 32 at-bats and no RBI through the entire contest, while leaving eight guys on base. The Hatters drove in nine hits at 36 at-bats and seven RBI — while still leaving seven guys on base — but dominated the Knights to the 7-0 shutout. This marked the first game the Knights have gone scoreless since the matchup against the Houston Cougars in May 2019.

After the game, UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins praised Walker’s performance. Green Jr. was able to do this by shooting 5-of-8 from the floor and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. “I thought he gave us a great start of this game,” Dawkins said. ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton is transferring to another school, the star player announced in a video released Thursday. “I will be entering the transfer portal and playing my last year of college football elsewhere,” Milton said in an Instagram post. “I may be suiting up in different colors, but I’ll always bleed Black and Gold.”It’s not known where Milton will play next. In the video, Milton said leaving UCF is “one the hardest things for me to do.”“I’m trying to think of it more logically than emotionally,” he said. Milton thanked UCF Nation in his farewell video.
UCF Athletics’ financial game plan takes a $14.7 million hit due to COVID-19
ORLANDO, Fla. – The financial game plan for the athletic department of the University of Central Florida is taking a hit due to the coronavirus. School officials said they eliminated plans for hiring 32 full-time positions and 40 additional part-time football game day positions. UCF officials said they are close to hitting a $2 million goal on the Keep Charging on Fund, one million of it came from donated salaries from staff. School officials said they have accounted for a $10-11 million 2021 budget loss and projected a $12.7 million loss in revenue. UCF athletics is also facing $2 million in increased coronavirus related expenses for a total loss of $14.7 million.
