COCOA, Fla. – Cocoa High School is one of four Central Florida teams playing for a state football championship this week.

It’s Cocoa High’s fourth straight year in the state final, and the school has a history of athletes who have played at the highest level -- the NFL.

Here’s a list of athletes who play or played in the NFL after attending Cocoa High School:

  • Jamel Dean, 28: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: current
  • C.J. Gardner-Johnson, 26: Philadelphia Eagles: current
  • Jawaan Taylor, 27: Kansas City Chiefs: current
  • James Folston, 53: Played for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders, Arizona Cardinals from 1994-2000
  • Zach Thomas, 64: Played for Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1983-1984
  • John Tanner, 63: Played for San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots from 1971-1974
  • Bob Anderson, 86: Played for New York Giants in 1963
