'I'm not a pedophile, I'm just a pervert': Florida man faces 52 child pornography charges

Thousands of images found on hard drive

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A Florida man repeatedly referred to himself as a pervert before investigators found thousands of files depicting child pornography on his electronics, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Officials arrived at Anthony Coiro's Port Orange residence on Oct. 18 in reference to a cyber tip they received about him being in possession of child pornography.

As investigators were executing a search warrant, Coiro told them he knew the day would come when he got in trouble with the law because of the "crazy" pornography he looked at, the sheriff's office said. He told them, "I'm not a pedophile, I'm a pervert."

He also referred to himself as a "law-abiding pervert," but admitted that he was guilty and said all the images on the computer belonged to him, deputies said.

Deputies said they found more than 4,000 images and videos depicting child pornography on Coiro's computer.

Coiro was arrested Tuesday and charged with 52 counts of possessing child pornography. He's being held without bond in the Volusia County Jail.
