Ashley started at News 6 as an anchor and a Community Correspondent in January 2026, covering the Parramore, Pine Hills, Rosemont and Lockhart areas of Orange County.
She was born and raised in Orlando and attended what used to be Orlando Christian School.
She also went to Ocoee Middle School, West Orange High, and graduated from Ocoee High before getting her Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism at Florida A&M University. Ashley is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

And when it comes to news, she's worn a few hats. Those positions include: producer and an MMJ. Ashley spent seven of her years in news as a weekday morning main news anchor. She's covered multiple special reports on topics that gained attention both nationally and across the globe.

When anchoring mornings in Savannah, Georgia, she covered the 2020 Presidential Election and the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man who died after being chased by three White men. Arbery was eventually shot and killed while jogging in his own neighborhood.
Also, while in Savannah, she not only covered Coastal Georgia but also the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, which led to her being involved in special reports on Alex Murdaugh.
Murdaugh, who's been called a disgraced attorney, was at the time accused of shooting and killing his wife, Maggie, and youngest son, Paul. It was a case that eventually became a saga that seemed to never end.

After her three years anchoring in Savannah, she spent another four years as a morning main anchor in Greenville, South Carolina.
While there, she covered extensive seven-to eight-hour, wall-to-wall impromptu coverage on big stories like the 2024 Presidential Election and Hurricane Helene as she made landfall in Western North Carolina (another region covered at the time), leaving hundreds dead and cities underwater.

In 2025, Ashley, along with her team, was nominated for a Best Morning Newscast EMMY.

Ashley comes back home to the City Beautiful with her husband, EJ. They got married in March of 2025.

And the family is growing. Ashley just had her first child, Kamryn. She was born in February of 2026.

Ashley is excited and eager to tell your stories. Please share them with her at agarrett@wkmg.com.
