ORLANDO, Fla. – Gators aren’t the only creatures lurking in the Gatorland swamp this October.
The “Alligator Capital of the World” is bringing back its popular Gators, Ghosts and Goblins Halloween event for the seventh year. The family-friendly daytime event runs over three weekends from Oct. 11 through Oct. 26 and is included with park admission.
“We’re a family park. We’ve been open since 1949, 76 years,” said Brandon Fisher, Director of Media Relations, Gatorland spokesperson, and Gatorland’s Gator Expert. “It’s all about family. It’s about fun, smiles, and special memories. And our seventh annual Gators Ghosts and Goblins is gonna put that to the next level."
Visitors can explore “Swamp Ghost’s Monster Movie Museum,” where Cyrus the Gravedigger shares tales of classic movie monsters in an abandoned theater setting.
The “Cryptids vs. Aliens” Hauntzone invites guests to help Skunk Ape save the world from extraterrestrial invaders. The adventure continues aboard the Cryptid Express, searching for legendary creatures like Moth Man, Chupacabra and Jersey Devil.
Florida’s famously large insects get a spotlight too, with Betty, the employee of the month at Bubba’s Bug-B-Gone, battling oversized bugs.
Guests will also meet the half-human, half-Capybara werebeasts called Capy Creepybaras. At “Gator Grotto,” visitors encounter spooky pirate captains ready to shiver their timbers.
The event features interactive characters, animal meet-and-greets, photo opportunities and a Children’s Halloween Costume Parade where participating kids receive treat bags. Additional attractions include live shows, a DJ, specialty vendors, games and candy giveaways.
Gators, Ghosts and Goblins runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests are welcome to wear costumes but asked to refrain from being gory.
