ORLANDO, Fla. – A 70-year-old woman died after losing consciousness while riding the Revenge of the Mummy attraction at Universal Studios, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) quarterly theme-park injury report for the final three months of 2025.

The incident occurred on Nov. 25. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died, the state report revealed.

Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor hybrid attraction that combines a dark ride with roller-coaster elements. The ride reaches speeds up to 45 mph, with quick accelerations immersing guests in a fictional movie set of an Egyptian tomb, mummy figures, and effects like fire and scarabs.

According to the ride’s safety manual, guests with certain medical conditions are advised not to ride, including those with heart conditions, high blood pressure, and back or neck problems.

This marks the second death connected to a Universal Orlando attraction within the span of a few months. In September 2025, a 32-year-old man died after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe following what medical examiners determined to be “multiple blunt impact injuries.”

Under Florida’s Tyre Sampson Act, theme parks are required to report injuries that occur on rides and result in immediate hospital stays of 24 hours or more.
