Disney Cruise Line keeps on building and believing.

On Wednesday, the cruise line announced the name of its ninth ship. The Disney Believe will join sister ships Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny in the Wish class, where storytelling from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars is woven into experiences and design, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

Disney said the vessel will carry a theme of promise and possibilities when it debuts in late 2027. The ship will include elements inspired by “Encanto,” “Frozen,” “Snow White,” “Moana,” and “The Little Mermaid.”

A specific homeport has not been announced, but Disney said more information will be shared in the coming months.

Last year, Disney Cruise Line announced a new class of smaller vessels tied to a broader fleet expansion.

Along with the addition of the Believe in 2027, four additional ships will join the fleet between 2029 and 2031, expanding the fleet to 13 vessels.

The new vessels will carry about 3,000 guests and measure roughly 100,000 gross tons, Disney said. They will be smaller than the Disney Dream, Wish, and Treasure, which can accommodate about 4,000 passengers, but larger than the Disney Magic, which carries just over 2,700.

Disney said the ships will be built at Meyer Werft in Germany and designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. The company described them as among the lightest, most fuel-efficient ships of their size because of a streamlined hull and next-generation power and propulsion systems.

The announcement comes on the same day Josh D’Amaro takes over as Disney CEO. As the previous chairman of Disney Experiences, D’Amaro oversaw the division that includes theme parks, resorts, and Disney Cruise Line, and led the division’s expansion of the fleet.
