FAYETTTEVILLE, Ga. – Fun Spot America announced that its Atlanta-area location will permanently close, with its final day of operation on Aug. 2.
“This was an extremely difficult decision,” said John Arie Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Fun Spot America. “Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together.”

Fun Spot did not cite a specific reason for the park’s closure.
According to a news release, operations will continue as normal, with the park open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily until its closure.
The park has welcomed millions of guests over the years. Fun Spot America said it will work with employees throughout the transition and is committed to providing team members with support resources.
Originally opened as Dixieland Fun Park in 1990, the attraction was later renamed Fun Junction USA before Fun Spot America Theme Parks purchased it in July 2017. The following year, it was rebranded as Fun Spot America Atlanta.
“We are proud of the memories created in Atlanta and grateful to everyone who has been part of this chapter of our story,” Arie said.
As for its Florida locations, Fun Spot America will continue operating parks in Orlando and Kissimmee.
The flagship Orlando park features 33 attractions, including White Lightning, Orlando’s only wooden roller coaster.
The Kissimmee location offers 29 attractions, including the world’s tallest SkyCoaster, which stands at 300 feet, and Mine Blower, Florida’s only wooden roller coaster with a full 360-degree barrel roll inversion.
The family-owned Central Florida parks feature Ferris wheel rides starting at $7 and roller coaster rides starting at $12.
Season passes and gift cards will remain valid at the Atlanta park until Aug. 2 and will continue to be honored at Fun Spot America’s Orlando and Kissimmee locations.
