MARION COUNTY, Fla. – One driver is facing pending charges, and troopers are looking for another driver in a multi-vehicle crash that killed a 77-year-old woman in the Ocala area over the weekend.

The crash happened Saturday on Southwest 49th Avenue Road at Southwest 82nd Place, north of Marion Oaks.

The Florida Highway Patrol says two cars were speeding recklessly in the northbound lanes when one of the cars struck an SUV that was entering the intersection.

The crash killed the passenger in the SUV, whose identity has not been released. The driver, a 48-year-old man, suffered serious injuries.

Troopers say charges are pending against the driver of the car that hit the SUV. The other car that was speeding left the scene of the crash, and troopers are looking for it.

No information about that vehicle or the driver is known at this time.
