'View' hosts say they had false positive COVID tests
NEW YORK — (AP) — The two co-hosts of “The View” whose COVID-19 tests derailed a planned interview with Vice President Kamala Harris last week said Monday that their results turned out to be false positives. Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were pulled off the air Friday in a startling moment of live television that forced an abbreviated Harris interview to be conducted remotely. None of the hosts who were on Friday came into contact with Harris. Hostin and Navarro, along with Joy Behar and Sara Haines, were tested multiple times over the weekend and all results were negative, the show said. Biden was speaking to George Lopez in widely shared video
Yes, Biden did say “George,” which some social media users concluded was a reference to former President George W. Bush. Biden and his wife, Jill, were being interviewed by actor and comedian George Lopez during the virtual “I Will Vote” concert Sunday. The full video, which Biden tweeted, shows the former vice president was being interviewed by actor George Lopez as part of a virtual concert being held in support of the Democratic candidate by the Biden Victory Fund. “WATCH: Joe Biden confuses President Trump with George Bush,” the Trump War Room, one of the official Trump campaign Twitter accounts, tweeted Sunday night. “Joe Biden called me George yesterday,” he said.
Biden courts Latino voters in 1st trip to Florida as nominee
“More than any other time, the Hispanic community, Latino community holds in the palm of their hand the destiny of this country,” Biden said Tuesday during a Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff event in Kissimmee. “You can decide the direction of this country.”A win for Biden in Florida would dramatically narrow Trump’s path to reelection. But in a state where elections are often decided by a percentage point, there are mounting concerns that Biden may be slipping, particularly with the state’s influential Latino voters. An NBC-Marist poll released last week found Latinos in the state about evenly divided between Biden and Trump. “Donald Trump has failed the Hispanic community time and time again, and that's not a secret,” Biden said.
Meghan McCain walks off 'The View' after disagreement with guest co-host
During the episode, Meghan McCain walked off the set as cameras panned the studio heading into a commercial. It's unclear why McCain walked off the stage, but right before the break she and guest host Ana Navarro got into a disagreement as the group discussed whistleblowers and leakers, including WikiLeaks' Julian Assange. Because of the commotion, McCain appeared to not hear Navarro and replied, "I don't know what you just said." McCain appeared annoyed and responded with, "That's so rude, Ana." Later in the day, the only comment McCain made regarding the episode was on her Twitter account: "Another day.
