The city of Orlando will begin rehoming its resident Lake Eola swans as the city prepares for a massive renovation plan around the lake. The deaths of dozens of swans and other birds from avian influenza earlier this year also influenced the decision.

The city of Orlando is taking precautions after discovering two of Lake Eola’s famous swans, recently found dead, had bird flu.

The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne says it’s closing its free-flight walk-through aviaries will be closed to the public until further notice.
