Because this is the final edition of the Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire column for this year, I’m going to change the format this week and guide your team through the final two weeks of the regular season. Players who can help this weekendPadres and Rockies hittersSan Diego and Colorado will meet this weekend for the final 2022 games at Coors Field. We have already seen some offensive fireworks at Coors this week, and there should be more in the next three days. The club opens with three games against mediocre Cubs starters before facing the woeful Nats pitching staff for four contests. The right-hander has been effective this year (3.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) and has converted the team’s past four saves.

Sonny Gray, Chris Paddack and Josh Winder are on the injured list, and Joe Ryan is on the COVID-19 list. Yankees right-hander Jameson Taillon (6-1, 2.30) starts for the first time since taking a perfect game into the eighth inning against the Angels last week. Kyle Wright (5-3, 2.41 ERA) starts for Atlanta against Cole Irvin (2-2, 2.96). Texas left-hander Taylor Hearn (3-4) is scheduled to start Game 2, but the Guardians had not yet announced their pitcher. Kansas City right-hander Brad Keller (1-6) is 0-4 with a 6.67 ERA in five starts since defeating St. Louis on May 3.

Derided in New York for his substandard defense at catcher, Sánchez made an important play in the top of the first. The 6-foot-9 Ober allowed an RBI single to Frazier three batters before Haniger's homer, but recovered to retire seven straight.

Lucas Giolito lobbed an expletive-laced response in Josh Donaldson’s direction after the slugger appeared to yell “Not sticky anymore,” after a first-inning homer, overshadowing Gavin Sheets’ successful debut for the White Sox in a 7-6 victory over the Twins.
