2022 Fantasy Football: Volume or efficiency — which top performers can we trust in Week 2?
If you are new to this article series, I will be using my Expected Fantasy Points model to determine which players relied on volume or efficiency to produce for fantasy. In short, the two metrics that we will analyze are:Expected Fantasy Points (or xFP)Fantasy Points Over Expected (or FPOE = Expected Points - Actual Points)Why do we do these metrics matter? Basically, fantasy production that is rooted in volume (or xFP) is usually sustainable week to week. On the other hand, players who rely on efficiency (or FPOE) are much more volatile week to week. However, in Jefferson’s case, he also ranked WR7 in Expected Fantasy Points with 20.6.wftv.com
Analytics didn't actually support Brian Daboll's aggressive 2-point gamble in Giants' win. Here's why
A successful two-point conversion would give the Giants a 21-20 lead. He sent his offense out for a two-point conversion. Saquon converts the two-point conversion and the Giants take the late lead 👀pic.twitter.com/g9iQsJUrbl — Yahoo Sports (@YahooSports) September 11, 2022But that wasn't the ball game. Meanwhile, Football Outsiders projects that a successful two-point conversion would give the Giants just a 55% probably to win the game. Football Outsiders also projected that a below-average Giants offense had a below-average chance of converting a two-point conversion.wftv.com
