No. 18 Miami motivated to finish strong in Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 18th-ranked Miami Hurricanes hope to redeem themselves when they face Oklahoma State in the Cheez-It Bowl. A lopsided loss to end the regular season cost coach Manny Diaz's team a spot in a major bowl. Instead, the Hurricanes (8-2) will finish their best season in years on a smaller stage on Tuesday night. That loss likely kept the Hurricanes out of a New Year’s Six bowl game. A victory would likely lift Oklahoma State back into the AP rankings.

No. 14 Oklahoma State holds off Kansas State, 20-18

Kansas State quarterback Will Howard (15) passes to a teammate during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Oklahoma State in Manhattan, Kan., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. After six first-half punts, Oklahoma State finally got on the board with a field goal early in the second half. The safety took off up the Kansas State sideline and was never touched on his TD return, which wound up being the decisive score in the game. Kansas State could have used the steady hand of senior quarterback Skylar Thompson, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Kansas State gets the week off before trying to snap its two-game skid at No.

Ehlinger's TD pass helps Texas beat No. 6 Oklahoma St. in OT

His 15-yard touchdown pass to Moore in overtime helped Texas knock off previously unbeaten and sixth-ranked Oklahoma State 41-34 on Saturday. “Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games, regardless of when that is and regardless of what’s happened earlier in the game," Ehlinger said. Sanders threw his fourth touchdown pass -- a 9-yard toss to a well-covered Wallace -- to give Oklahoma State a 31-20 lead. No. 5 Oklahoma still Big 12 favorite with inexperienced QB

The Sooners are still considered the overwhelming favorite to win their sixth consecutive Big 12 crown overall because nobody has dethroned them with Riley there. Purdy last year set school records with 3,982 yards and 27 TDs passing, leading the Big 12 with 306.3 yards per game. Conference play begins Sept. 26, the start of an 11-week stretch for nine league games before the Big 12 title game Dec. 12 or Dec. 19, if an extra week is needed. Since this is only TCU's ninth season in the league, Patterson technically isn't the longest-tenured Big 12 coach. Former Oklahoma State quarterback Mike Gundy is in his 16th season as head coach for his alma mater.

Oklahoma State's Gundy takes pay cut in wake of T-shirt flap

Athletic director Mike Holder said Friday the adjustments to Gundy's contract were the coach's idea. Two weeks ago, running back Chuba Hubbard lashed out at Gundy on social media for wearing a T-shirt promoting One America News Network. Holder didn't say whether the $1 million pay cut was a one-time arrangement or something that would happen annually. The changes were offered up by Mike Gundy, and I commend him for that, Holder said. The missing link has been a more personal relationship with their head coach, Holder said.
