A 77-year-old Florida man convicted of the hammer beating death of a woman is set to become the 16th person executed this year in the nation’s busiest death chamber.

A man convicted of killing a 16-year-old girl who rejected his romantic advances and wounding two of her friends has been executed in Florida.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday signed a death warrant for Curtis Wilkie Beasley for the 1995 murder of a Polk County woman bludgeoned with a hammer in the laundry room of her home.
