wftv.comWeek 15 Fantasy Football Rankings: Defenses
The fantasy football defense — aka, D/ST — position, like kickers often are, sometimes is overlooked during both draft and in-season. Some draft a team that is known for turnovers, others draft a team known for limiting points. Whatever your strategy, I know I can speak for most fantasy managers when I say, we all want the most points possible for D/STs — especially in Week 15, when the fantasy football playoffs kick off in most leagues. And if you're trying to figure out which defense might score the most points this week, you might have to look no further than the Kansas City Chiefs. Drake London hasn't reached 50 receiving yards since Week 3, while Olamide Zaccheaus became the first Atlanta pass catcher to top 90 receiving yards all season last week. The Broncos are also allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, including the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game (12.2) to the position. His schedule eases up significantly Sunday, when the Browns get a Texans defense allowing the most fantasy points to running backs this season. The Chargers have been gashed for an NFL-high 5.4 YPC and the second-most EPA/rush while allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. That includes 120 last week to James Conner, who previously hadn't rushed for 70 yards in a game this season.

Hunt has averaged just seven touches since Cleveland's bye and has reached double-digit fantasy points in 0.5 PPR only once since Week 1. Lawrence is getting just 6.7 YPA this season and faces a surging Baltimore defense this week. He faces an Atlanta defense allowing the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season while recording an NFL-low four QB hurries. This week the Panthers get a tough Broncos defense allowing the third-fewest yards per play and points per game this season. Conversely, the Steelers have been gashed for the most fantasy points, yards and touchdowns against wideouts this season.
wftv.comHurts, Eagles beat Texans 29-17 for their first 8-0 start
HOUSTON — (AP) — Jalen Hurts threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns, and the Philadelphia Eagles overcame a slow start to beat the Houston Texans 29-17 on Thursday night for the first 8-0 start in franchise history. Hurts lost a fumble in a forgettable first half and game was tied at halftime. Houston (1-6-1) added a field goal after that but another scoring toss by Hurts and his 2-point conversion run extended the lead to 29-17 early in the fourth. Hurts found Dallas Goedert for a 4-yard TD pass on the next drive and Hurts padded the lead with his 2-point conversion run. The Texans tied it less than a minute before halftime when Mills connected with Chris Moore on a 13-yard touchdown pass.

His usage value is equally impressive, currently ranking as the RB8 with 14.7 Expected Fantasy Points. Tight Ends: Fantasy Usage & EfficiencyPat Freiermuth - Pittsburgh SteelersDespite dealing with inconsistencies at the quarterback position, Pat Freiermuth has quietly put together a very productive start to his season. However, despite ranking as the QB4 in Expected Fantasy Points, you can see above that Herbert is only the QB10 in Fantasy Points per game.
wftv.comFantasy Football Week 9: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Houston Texans sit/start tips for Thursday night football
Both teams have condensed passing trees, and we’re only looking for fantasy output from a select few players. The Eagles are now creating explosive plays in the passing game." They tore down the passing game, built a top-10 rushing offense that could run out of a plethora of personnel packages and found themselves in a playoff game. He was 23rd in passing success rate on third downs and converted on 34.2 percent of his attempts. Take the Bengals' passing game (with Ja'Marr Chase), for instance.

We’ve logged seven fantasy football weeks into the books, and all sorts of messiness and surprises at the running back position. Indianapolis ColtsThe running game has fallen apart, between Jonathan Taylor's injury and Matt Ryan's collapse. Los Angeles ChargersAustin Ekeler enjoys the bell cow life, leading all running backs in targets, catches, yards and receiving touchdowns.

wftv.comBold fantasy football predictions: Will Washington receivers command respect in Week 5?
In fact, if you want to get bold, let's say Dalvin erupts for 160 total yards and finishes as the overall RB1 for Week 5. A bounce-back is likely against an ordinary Titans defense, and that might push Curtis Samuel into rare territory, perhaps a top-12 WR performance. However, the rookie's absence is also good for McLaurin, who had some role overlap with Dotson. Both Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris will finish as top-12 fantasy backs. Detroit is somehow on pace to allow the most points in NFL history while scoring the second-most points.
wftv.comFantasy Football Week 3 Wrap: Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have arrived
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Los Angeles ChargersJustin Herbert was clearly compromised while playing through torn rib cartilage, but this Jacksonville team is fully legit. Austin Ekeler was held to just four yards on five carries but secured all eight of his targets. Receptions have saved Ekeler's fantasy start in PPR leagues, but he's yet to score a touchdown after hitting pay dirt 20 times last season. Fields has fewer completions over three games this season (23) than Cooper Kupp had catches over the first two weeks. Both Herbert and Pierce could be top-10 type fantasy backs moving forward if playing time cooperated (it won't, if Montgomery is back soon).

Now he gets a Houston defense that's allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs since the beginning of last season and 4.7 YPC this year. Bad weather contributed in Week 1, but Chicago is still by far the run-heaviest team in football, and this week the Bears are home favorites. The rookie has impressed and gets a Bears run defense this week that ranks 27th in DVOA, so he's undervalued in DFS. Gabriel Davis could return this week, but Diggs looks like a weekly top-three fantasy WR regardless in the pass-heaviest offense in football. The impressive rookie has run nearly 50% of his routes from the slot this season, where the Bengals have ceded the third-most fantasy points (conversely, Cincinnati has allowed the fewest fantasy points to outside receivers).
wftv.com2022 Fantasy Football Fact or Fluke: Renee's reactions to Week 1
I have to say, Week 1 delivered on all my anticipation of regular season fantasy football action. Yet, while our overall expectations of Week 1 may have been met, certain players definitely exceeded or failed to meet their projected fantasy output. Click here for a primer on some of the reasons we may struggle to interpret these deviations, especially in the aftermath of the first week of fantasy football. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta FalconsI never had a lot of faith in Atlanta for fantasy purposes, excepting Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Pitts. I'm not super-excited about his prospects next week against the Rams, but it's too soon to give up on Pitts.
wftv.comMills throws TD pass, Texas beat 49ers 17-0 to end preseason
HOUSTON — (AP) — Davis Mills threw a touchdown pass to Chris Moore to help the Houston Texans beat the San Francisco 49ers 17-0 on Thursday night in the preseason finale for both teams. San Francisco starting quarterback Trey Lance was 7 for 11 for 49 yards on three scoreless drives. Lance was scrambling from the Houston pass rush on many of his plays and was sacked once. Houston rookie safety Jalen Pitre, a second-round pick, had five tackles, including one for a loss. INJURIESTwo San Francisco second-string linebackers suffered injuries in the first half.
wftv.comDraft Day 3: Kickers and running backs take NFL spotlight
LAS VEGAS — (AP) — Running backs and kickers — kickers? — were a focus in the fourth round of the NFL draft on Saturday. So maybe it shouldn't be surprising that LSU placekicker Cade York went to Cleveland at No. Of course, it can't be ignored that the Patriots once had some luck with a late-round QB. The philosophy of taking running backs deeper into proceedings is nothing new, and several highly accomplished ball carriers were taken in Round 4.
wftv.comJones starts, Richardson shines as No. 13 Florida wins 35-14
Florida coach Dan Mullen insists he has no quarterback controversy: Emory Jones is the starter, and Anthony Richardson remains the backup following a 35-14 victory against Florida Atlantic on Saturday night in which one clearly outplayed the other.
Spiller helps No. 21 A&M top No. 4 Florida 41-38
“Now I want to see what do you follow up with?”Isaiah Spiller rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 21 Texas A&M beat fourth-ranked Florida 41-38 on Seth Small’s 26-yard field goal as time expired Saturday. Spiller helped get the Aggies get into position for Small’s decisive kick, sending A&M to its first win over a top-five team since a 41-38 victory over No. Florida led 28-24 early in the fourth when Spiller struck again, running 19 yards for a touchdown on a fourth-and-2 play. Spiller bounced off several defenders before waltzing into the end zone and then hitting the Florida fan section with a Gator chomp.
