Lamb sets table on Thanksgiving as Cowboys beat Giants 28-20
Lamb put the Cowboys in position for one of Dak Prescott's two scoring passes to Dalton Schultz and Ezekiel Elliott's TD run in a 28-20 victory over the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day. “I definitely thought the CeeDee catch was a touchdown,” Prescott said after his 10th consecutive victory over the Giants (7-4). The first one-handed grab by Lamb was a 15-yarder before Schultz’s second TD. A 23-yarder put Dallas at the 2, and Lamb thought he made another one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. Elliott had a season-high 92 yards rushing, and the Cowboys overcame two interceptions from Prescott, who threw for 261 yards.wftv.com
Prescott, TEs help Cowboys to Thanksgiving win over Giants
ARLINGTON, Texas — (AP) — Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes to tight end Dalton Schultz, Ezekiel Elliott ran for a score and the Dallas Cowboys beat the New York Giants 28-20 on Thanksgiving Day. Prescott's TD tosses to Schultz came about five minutes apart in the third quarter, turning a 13-7 deficit into a 21-13 lead. The Dallas quarterback has 10 consecutive victories over the Giants since losing to them twice when the Cowboys went 13-3 his rookie year in 2016. Lamb's one-handed grab for 15 yards came before Schultz's second TD. Elliott had a season-high 92 yards rushing, and the Cowboys overcame two interceptions from Prescott, who threw for 261 yards.wftv.com
Week 11 Fantasy Football Recap: Justin Fields searching for balance, Josh Allen struggles in Detroit & Davante Adams' walk-off
Subscribe to the Yahoo Fantasy Football ForecastApple Podcasts | Spotify | Stitcher | Google PodcastsMatt Harmon and Scott Pianowski recap all of the Sunday afternoon games from week 11 in the NFL, which offered mostly bad games and a lot of fantasy football misses. The guys wonder if Daniel Jones or Brian Daboll deserves more credit for the Giants’ success, whether the Cowboys will ever go back to giving Zeke more touches than Pollard and if the Bears need to stop calling designed runs for Justin Fields before he gets seriously injured. They also discuss the Eagles looking lost without Dallas Goedert, Josh Allen maybe having lost his confidence, the Steelers looking better (but still bad) on offense, and how the heck the Broncos left Davante Adams open in overtime. Giants fans give WR Kenny Golladay loud ovation after he makes first catch since Week 1
In the first half against the Detroit Lions, Golladay caught a pass. Kenny Golladay caught a pass!!!! Some of it was definitely sarcastic, since Golladay hasn't done much when he's played this season. One clue might be the four-year, $72 million contract Golladay signed with the Giants in March 2021. He was targeted two times in Week 1, three times in Week 3, and once in Week 4.wftv.com
NFL Quarterback Confidence Index: Taking the pulse of playoff teams' signal-callers
Welcome to the Quarterback Confidence Index, where we'll take the pulse of the quarterbacks that man the current playoff teams. Fantasy Football Week 11: Quarterback rankings
It seems like we've all been waiting for the true Daniel Jones fantasy football breakout. We've seen glimpses of it before — we've even seen glimpses of it this season, like when Jones scored 28.78 points in Week 7 against the Jaguars. Of course, for as much as we love Jones' ability to put up the fantasy points with his legs, we also hate the turnovers and the bonehead plays. To his credit, however, there haven't been that many of those plays this season — Jones only has two interceptions and two fumbles lost through 10 weeks. Here's the quarterback position — check out where Jones and the rest of the QBs landed in our analysts' rankings for Week 11:powered by FantasyProsECR ™ -wftv.com
Fantasy Football: Sit/Start tips for Week 8 of the NFL season
This week, the Jags get a Broncos defense allowing the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and the least EPA/pass this season. Expect Travis Etienne to carry Jacksonville's offense in London, with Lawrence failing to produce top-12 QB fantasy stats this week. Moreover, Dallas has ceded the fewest fantasy points to running backs this season, and Khalil Herbert saw just one fewer opportunity than David Montgomery in a timeshare last week. New England should be focused coming off an embarrassing performance in primetime, so there's a good chance the Pats finish as the top fantasy defense in Week 8. That leaves Aiyuk, who quietly was among the leaders in expected fantasy points last week.wftv.com
Why are Brian Daboll's Giants such an early smash? 'He just makes it fun, man'
New York Giants safety Xavier McKinney knew something was different early in Brian Daboll’s tenure as head coach. Soon after new general manager Joe Schoen hired Daboll, McKinney and the rest of the Giants' veteran leaders met to discuss what changes they’d like to see around the team. “He just makes it fun, man,” McKinney said. As soon as he joined the team, Daboll made it a point to try and foster personal connections with players. But Daboll’s response to his actions earned a lot of respect from Pioli and others within the Patriots organization.wftv.com
Fantasy Football Sleepers, Week 8: Run Daniel Jones, run
It was a so-so return for the Week 7 fantasy sleepers; Brian Robinson Jr. returned RB2 value, and the Raiders used a defensive touchdown to finish as DST8. Perhaps it helps you make a start/sit call this week or a DFS decision. Perhaps you’ll add a player to your fantasy bench as depth, but won't deploy him this week. QB Daniel Jones at SeattleI'm not sure if Jones is more sleeper or obvious pick at this point, but let's work through this. Jones has been aggressively added this week but he’s currently starting in just 41 percent of Yahoo leagues.wftv.com
Daily Fantasy Football Week 8: Lineup building blocks and undervalued options to target
In fact, King Henry remarkably ranks top three among running backs in yards per reception and yards per route run. Henry has averaged more YPC (6.1) against Houston than any other team during his career, and the Texans rank last in run defense DVOA this season. Walker should be treated as a top-five fantasy back this week facing a Giants defense allowing an NFL-high 5.7 YPC and sporting DVOA's 30th-ranked run defense. 2 fantasy QB last week despite throwing for just 202 yards and one score, as he continues to add fantasy value with his legs. The Patriots rank 28th in run defense DVOA, so Carter is a sneaky DFS play this week.wftv.com
Fantasy Football Flashback, Week 7: Josh Jacobs becoming one of NFL's most reliable players
Welcome to the latest edition of the Fantasy Football Flashback, where we celebrate the accomplishments of the week's most reliable players. Jacobs is locked into one of the heaviest workloads of any rusher, and those who gambled on drafting him when his stock was down in August are holding a top-5 fantasy RB for the remainder of the campaign. The 27-year-old’s rare combination of receiving and goal line skills make him a top-5 fantasy RB for the duration of 2022. But those who grabbed the 34-year-old as a bye-week replacement or superflex option were ecstatic by his final stat line, which included 361 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Duke alum has mostly been a game manager (175 passing yards per game) but has remained a fantasy factor by averaging 49 rushing yards per contest.wftv.com
Fantasy Football: Early waiver wire pickups for Week 8
It's never too early to look toward your next matchup and a chance to bolster your fantasy football lineups. Here are three options to consider on the waiver wire ahead of Week 8. Jones scored an excellent 28.78 fantasy points in the Giants' 23-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's probably too early to say that Brian Daboll is turning Jones into a poor man's Josh Allen. And next up for Jones, a matchup that has been a quarterback's dream this season: the Seattle Seahawks.wftv.com
Giants stop Jags at 1-yard line, hold on for 23-17 win
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — (AP) — Two Giants defenders tackled Jacksonville's Christian Kirk inside the 1-yard line as time expired, preserving New York's 23-17 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday to match its best start since 2008. Jacksonville had a final shot and reached the New York 1-yard on Trevor Lawrence’s pass to Kirk. But Julian Love and Xavier McKinney stopped Kirk short of the goal line, even as Jaguars players tried pushing the pile into the end zone. The Giants leaned on their ground game — despite being down two starting offensive linemen and its starting tight end — to win another close one. ... Commanders coach Ron Rivera on why the rest of the NFC East is winning: 'Quarterback'
Perhaps the most-beleaguered of once-proud NFC East franchises remains mired in the muck in 2022 amid a 1-4 start. On Monday, head coach Ron Rivera was asked why he thinks the rest of the division is making progress where the Commanders aren't. Rivera expounded on his one-word answer only when faced with a followup question focused on the Cowboys' quarterback situation. "They started with Dak," Rivera said. "I've got no regrets about our quarterback," Rivera continued.wftv.com
Giants' big win over Packers proves they might have staying power after all
LONDON — It was really hard to tell whether or not the New York Giants were legitimately good this year heading into Week 5. But the 27-22 win over the Green Bay Packers in a pro-Packers Tottenham Hotspur Stadium silenced the doubt. This was also a statement win for Brian Daboll, even though he wouldn’t say it after the game. The first-year head coach has found a way to unlock the once-downtrodden Giants and deliver important wins early in the season. On the defensive side, Martindale found a way to shut down the Packers' run game and keep Rodgers on his toes throughout the game.wftv.com
Giants spoil Packers international debut with 27-22 win
LONDON — (AP) — Saquon Barkley took a direct snap and ran for a 2-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cap the New York Giants' 27-22 comeback victory over the Packers on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, spoiling Green Bay’s international debut. It's the Giants' best start since 5-0 in 2009 and matches their win total from last season (4-13). On the drive, Jones scrambled for two first downs — after carrying just once in the first half for 3 yards. From the shotgun, Jones ran right, pitched it to Barkley, who then pitched to Daniel Bellinger. Mason Crosby connected from 48 yards as time expired in the half to give the Packers a 20-10 lead.wftv.com
NFL injury report: Falcons rule out TE Kyle Pitts ahead of Week 5
With one ugly Week 5 game in the books, the NFL world sets its sights on a bigger – and hopefully better – slate of games on Sunday. And with that come injury updates, some of which are already clear and significant while others are uncertain or less important. Here's a quick roundup of what we know already:Falcons injuries: TE Kyle Pitts ruled outKyle Pitts will officially miss his first game in his NFL career after he missed three consecutive practices this week with a hamstring injury. The Falcons offense is still averaging 25.8 points per game – eighth in the NFL – despite the lack of production from the No. Quarterback Daniel Jones, who missed some snaps last week and during practice with an ankle injury, received no injury designation.wftv.com
QB Jones set to start for Giants against Packers in London
WARE, England — (AP) — Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to start in New York's game against the Green Bay Packers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after participating fully in practice on Friday. Jones sprained his left ankle last Sunday and was limited in midweek practices before the London trip but didn't receive an injury status Friday. Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor was ruled out, making it likely Davis Webb will be elevated from the practice squad. Jones ran for two touchdowns before injuring his ankle in the third quarter of the 20-12 victory over the Chicago Bears. Coach Brian Daboll shed more light on Toney's hamstring injury, saying it's the 2021 first-round draft pick's other hamstring that sidelined him this time.wftv.com
Fantasy Football Week 4 Sleepers: Richie James, wide awake in New York
Perhaps you’ll add a player to your fantasy bench as depth, but won't deploy him this week. But Stevenson has a significant snap advantage over the last two weeks (62 percent, versus Harris' 39 percent), and last week Stevenson was the busier back, especially in the passing game (4-28-0). RB Jeff Wilson vs. RamsIf you wind up playing the single DFS slate for Monday, Wilson at $14 is impossible to look past. WR Alex Pierce vs. TitansThe Colts are desperate for a third pitch in their offense, and maybe the rookie Pierce is ready to fill that gap. Pittsburgh has been average when it comes to checking tight ends this year; even with the Jets likely to turn back to Zach Wilson, Conklin retains his Circle of Trust privileges.wftv.com
Giants take 2 body blows from Cowboys, a loss and injury
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — (AP) — The New York Giants took it on the chin against the Dallas Cowboys. Dropping a hard-fought 23-16 decision to the rival Cowboys on Monday night to lose for the first time under new coach Brian Daboll hurt. Wide receiver Sterling Shepard, the Giants' longest-tenured player and one of the key leaders on a young team, sustained a leg injury on New York's final offensive play and it did not look good. Shepard made it back for the season opener and caught a touchdown pass after recovering from an Achilles tendon injury late last season. So to see him go down, you know, we all got his back.”Daboll called the injury a shame.wftv.com

Lamb's 1-handed TD catch gives Dallas 23-16 win over Giants
Saquon Barkley scored on a weaving 36-yard touchdown run that gave the Giants a brief 13-6 lead. Graham Gano added three field goal, including a 51-yarder with 3:37 to play to make it a one-score game. If there was a big play in the game, it came from McCarthy. Faced with a fourth-and-4 at the Giants 41 with the score tied at 13 and 10:27 to play, the Dallas coach went for the first down. Maher sandwiched field goals of 26 and 28 yards around a 42-yarder by Gano to give Dallas a 6-3 halftime lead.wftv.com
Analytics didn't actually support Brian Daboll's aggressive 2-point gamble in Giants' win. Here's why
A successful two-point conversion would give the Giants a 21-20 lead. He sent his offense out for a two-point conversion. Saquon converts the two-point conversion and the Giants take the late lead 👀pic.twitter.com/g9iQsJUrbl — Yahoo Sports (@YahooSports) September 11, 2022But that wasn't the ball game. Meanwhile, Football Outsiders projects that a successful two-point conversion would give the Giants just a 55% probably to win the game. Football Outsiders also projected that a below-average Giants offense had a below-average chance of converting a two-point conversion.wftv.com
Late FG gives Giants, Daboll 23-21 victory over Patriots

The Giants gave Brian Daboll a victory in his head coaching debut against his predecessor and the team he started his NFL career with. Despite some breakouts by the offensive line, the Giants moved the ball well, with Jones completing 6 of 10 passes for 69 yards. 2022 Fantasy Football Quarterback Shuffle Up: Justin Herbert to the moon
It’s not just the most important position in football, it’s the most important position in team sports anywhere. I think it’s the least important field position for fantasy managers to solve (defense and kicker don’t count here). If you play in a league that requires just one starting quarterback, you’ll probably never feel harried or anxious at the position. Create or join a fantasy football league now!] The dollar values below are unscientific in nature but reflect how I see the clusters of talent at the quarterback position.wftv.com
Key 2022 fantasy football QB projections: Is there any reason to doubt Jalen Hurts?
The Eagles ranked eighth in passing play percentage in 2020, 20th in 2019 and seventh in 2018. Minnesota has ranked an average of 24th in passing play percentage (54.8%) the last three seasons. Those teams were closer to a 59% passing play rate and operated at a faster pace. He even has a near-5K passing season on his resume, hitting 4,917 yards with Washington in 2016. They’ve also ranked 14th and 11th in run play percentage the last two seasons.wftv.com
Fantasy Football: Quarterbacks one analyst is higher or lower on than consensus this draft season
This will be an ongoing positional series highlighting some big differences between ECR and my own ranks. Finally freed from a coach who disliked him and with arguably the best offensive line of his career, don't be surprised when Cousins has a better fantasy season than Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr. Daniel Jones, New York Giants (ECR = QB22 vs DDD = QB15)There are Jimmy Garoppolo to New York rumors swirling, but assuming Jones is the Giants' starter this season, he's being under-drafted in fantasy leagues. Zach Wilson, New York Jets (ECR = QB23 vs DDD = QB28)I hope I'm wrong about Wilson, but the same concerns surrounding him leaving college remain. He struggled with accuracy while finishing with the fewest yards per dropback among all quarterbacks over the last three seasons.wftv.com
With Glennon now concussed, Giants' issues at QB worsen
Not only is there no clarity on when starter Daniel Jones — who missed Sunday’s 20-9 loss to Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins with a neck injury — can return, but now his backup may be looking at an extended absence as well. Mike Glennon was diagnosed postgame with a concussion, the hardest hit on a day where the Giants took many in Miami. “Look, I don’t know if you guys saw my high school quarterback tape, but I’m going to put it out there, emergency,” Giants safety Logan Ryan said.news.yahoo.com
Daniel Jones will not play against Dolphins, neck injury
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — (AP) — New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will not play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday because of a neck injury, and he could be out longer. Judge said it is uncertain at this point when Jones will be cleared to play. Jones, who has started every game this season, sustained what he said was a strained neck against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. He also spoke with the receivers and new offensive play caller Freddie Kitchens about what plays he feels comfortable running. He said the Giants' offensive system is a little different than the Bills' schemes, but he is learning it as quickly as he can.wftv.com
New York Giants fire offensive coordinator Jason Garrett
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — (AP) — The New York Giants have fired offensive coordinator Jason Garrett after a dreadful performance in a nationally televised game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There was no immediate word who would replace Garrett for the game Sunday at MetLife Stadium against the Philadelphia Eagles (5-6). The Giants finished with 215 total yards Monday night, the second-lowest total of the 26-game Judge era. Only one of the Giants’ 54 offensive plays gained more than 16 yards against Tampa Bay. New York rushed for 66 yards, its second-lowest total of the season; the Giants ran for 60 yards in their season-opening loss to Denver.wftv.com

And early in the fourth quarter, Evan Engram beat Sorensen to the pylon for a touchdown catch that gave the Giants a 17-14 lead. WR Kadarius Toney departed in the fourth quarter with a thumb injury. QBs, big names plentiful among injured early in NFL season
There are big names aplenty among the early-season strains and sprains, or worse. The Giants were without their two most important offensive players for most of a fourth loss in five games to start this season. Baltimore lost two running backs to season-ending knee injuries before the opener, including starter J.K. Dobbins. Cincinnati's Joe Burrow was taken out last week with a throat contusion but is expected to play against winless Detroit. Soft-tissue injuries are usually a concern early because of rules limitations on work in the offseason and training camp.wftv.com

(AP Photo/Eugene Hoshiko)How many variants of the coronavirus are there? One of the three main variants experts are watching was discovered in the United Kingdom late last year and has been detected in dozens of countries since. Data so far suggests current vaccines should still protect against these variants, though there’s some concern their effectiveness may be slightly diminished. The emergence of variants is linked to ongoing surges since infections give viruses the chance to mutate and spread.
Giants outlast Cowboys, lose division hours later to WSH
New York’s postseason chances hinged on Philadelphia beating Washington later Sunday, but the Eagles flopped in a 20-14 loss. Hardly how first-year coach Joe Judge planned it, but there were no complaints about extending the season for at least a few more hours. Limited to 26 points over its previous three games, the Giants’ 31st-ranked offense busted out with 239 yards and 20 points in the first half. Giants: Williams had seven tackles, three sacks and hit the quarterback five times. Giants: LB Blake Martinez left the game briefly after appearing to injure his left ankle or foot in the third quarter.

(AP Photo/Seth Wenig)EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Baker Mayfield led two 95-yard touchdown drives and the Cleveland Browns moved closer to ending their 17-year playoff drought with a 20-6 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday night. Mayfield was sharp all night, helping the Browns (10-4) bounce back from a 47-42 loss to Baltimore last Monday night. The win got the Browns closer to clinching their first playoff spot since 2002, the NFL’s longest drought. New York's opening drive stalled at the 8 after McCoy's throw to Evan Engram fell incomplete in the end zone. It could've worked, too: Kicker Graham Gano was wide open in the end zone.
A winner: Chiefs vs Saints, with Brees back to face Mahomes
1 conference seed is tight, with the Packers one game ahead of the Saints, the Rams and Seahawks one game behind. Drew Brees will be active after missing four games with fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, making for an intriguing matchup with Patrick Mahomes. The Bills (11-3) scored twice in a 17-second span in the third quarter to ice their fourth straight victory that officially ended the New England Patriots’ 11-year reign atop the division.
