Achane leads No. 23 Texas A&M past No. 10 Arkansas, 23-21
ARLINGTON, Texas — (AP) — Devon Achane rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown, Demani Richardson sprinted the final 82 yards on a wild fumble return for another score and No. 23 Texas A&M beat 10th-ranked Arkansas 23-21 on Saturday night. Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0) has back-to-back wins over ranked teams since that embarrassing 17-14 home loss to Appalachian State two weeks ago. They trailed 14-0 before getting their initial first down on a 63-yard run by Achane midway through the second quarter. Texas A&M travels to Mississippi State next Saturday for the second of four consecutive games away from Kyle Field.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — (AP) — Chase Brice threw for 134 yards and a touchdown and Appalachian State took advantage of two turnovers to stun No. Appalachian State won a week after scoring six touchdowns and 40 points in the fourth quarter in a 63-61 opening loss to North Carolina. Appalachian State (1-1) settled for a 29-yard field goal by Michael Hughes to take a 17-14 lead with about eight minutes left after Christian Wells was wide open but dropped a touchdown pass on third down. Texas A&M lineman Layden Robinson recovered the ball, but he also fumbled and this time Appalachian State recovered it. Appalachian State should enter the poll after the big upset.

The Aggies entered the season ranked sixth and gunning for Alabama after the Crimson Tide handed them their only loss last season. But instead of falling into a bigger hole this week, the Aggies pulled off the upset to snap an eight-game skid against Alabama.

Kellen Mond passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third and the fifth-ranked Aggies scored 17 points in the fourth quarter of a come-from-behind 31-20 victory over Auburn on Saturday. Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher wasn't interested in speculating on how the win might affect his team's playoff chances. He completed 18 of 23 for 196 yards, highlighted by two TDs to Jalen Wydermyer, and ran for 60 yards. The Aggies ran for a season-high 313 yards and held a 16-minute advantage in time of possession. Auburn: Was outgained 168-21 in the fourth quarter.
