Donovan McNabb says Black QBs have always faced doubt
PHILADELPHIA — (AP) — Donovan McNabb hopes other Black quarterbacks don’t switch positions when they’re encouraged to do so because of their athleticism. Have you ever thought about playing running back? “There was always the question of doubt when you’re a young kid,” McNabb said. Even the success of Super Bowl champions Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes hasn’t convinced McNabb that perception hasn’t changed for Black QBs. McNabb says he mentored Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who replaced Carson Wentz last December and enters this season as the starter.wftv.com
Rush Limbaugh, voice of American conservatism, has died
Limbaugh, the talk radio host who became the voice of American conservatism, has died. Unflinchingly conservative, wildly partisan, bombastically self-promoting and larger than life, Limbaugh galvanized listeners for more than 30 years with his talent for sarcastic, insult-laced commentary. “We’re supposed to be horrified by the protesters,” Limbaugh told his listeners the next day after the Jan. 6 attack. AdRush Hudson Limbaugh III was born Jan. 12, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the former Mildred Armstrong, and Rush Limbaugh Jr., who flew fighter planes in World War II and practiced law at home. He attracts more listeners with just his voice than the rest of us could ever imagine,” Beck wrote in Time magazine in 2009.

Newton feeling thankful, not pressure taking over as Pats QB
– There are a lot of things Cam Newton is feeling as he prepares to take the field Sunday to succeed Tom Brady as the Patriots’ starting quarterback. “Pressure is when you’re looking at your children and you’re saying you’re 31 and you don’t know. “So for me, I’m elated, I’m excited, I’m all that and a bag of chips because I knew that if God didn’t show favor over me, man, who knows where I’d be right now,” he said. It was just four years ago that Jacoby Brissett became the first Black quarterback to start for New England in 2016. A lot of eyes will be on him, including from his new teammates who will also be reveling in seeing Newton take the field.
