NFL free agency: Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower retires after 9 seasons
Longtime New England Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower officially called it a career Tuesday after nine seasons in the NFL. I can't think of a better story than the one I wrote in New England," Hightower wrote. "A decade, three Super Bowls, two Pro Bowls, and the birth of my son — all playing for one franchise. Hightower is perhaps most known, though, for when he strip-sacked Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in Super Bowl LI. pic.twitter.com/zudWQlnIbL — New England Patriots (@Patriots) March 21, 2023"Every Super Bowl I won, there's a little memory like that attached to it," Hightower wrote.

Instead, the rookie safety injured his shoulder in the season opener and didnt play again last season. Now Abram is one of several second-year players poised for a breakout season in 2020. While Abrams season was cut short because of an injury, Tennessee first-round defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons started late because of one. Simmons recovered in time to play nine games of the regular season and three playoff games. He showed flashes as a rookie with 59 catches for 680 yards and five TDs despite substandard quarterback play from Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges.
AP sources: Jets LB C.J. Mosley opting out of NFL season
NEW YORK New York Jets linebacker C.J. The people spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Saturday because the team hadn't announced Mosley's decision. Mosley joins a growing list of players who are choosing to not play this season if there is a season amid concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. The Jets also have veteran Avery Williamson returning from a torn ACL that sidelined him for all of last season. But Mosley's decision to opt out will likely mean Williamson will remain on the roster and likely take over as the signal-calling quarterback on defense.
