Film Review - Good Luck to You, Leo Grande This image released by Searchlight Pictures shows Emma Thompson, right, and Daryl McCormack in a scene from "Good Luck to You, Leo Grande." To Thompson, “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is nothing less than revolutionary in its willingness to be candid about topics usually brushed under the covers. “Let’s face it, women’s pleasure has never been, as it were, top of the to-do list in present systems,” says Thompson. We’re designed to experience pleasure, clearly.”Thompson has, she says, been thinking about the issues behind “Leo Grande” for years and years. “I felt her passion for this instantly.”Though "Leo Grande" was shot quickly in just 19 days, the actors rehearsed beforehand, including some time spent acting nude.

Artsy Edinburgh, laid low by the virus, hopes for recovery
The Fringe, the high-toned Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Art Festival and the citys bagpipe-swirling Military Tattoo were all casualties of the U.K.s coronavirus lockdown. Donald Emslie, chairman of the Edinburgh Tourism Action Group, said the citys annual income from tourism doubled between 2010 and 2020. Edinburgh has been synonymous with arts festivals since 1947, when the Edinburgh International Festival was founded to revive the war-weary city. Last year more than 3.1 million tickets were sold to almost 4,000 Fringe shows during the three-week event. The International Festival also broadcast some productions online, and the book festival ran live-streamed talks by authors from around the world.
2019 Breakthrough Entertainer: Florence Pugh owns the year
This Nov. 20, 2019 photo shows actress Florence Pugh during a portrait session in Los Angeles. “It’s so weird,” Pugh recently told The Associated Press, which named her one of its Breakthrough Entertainers of 2019. Despite having three major films come out in a 10-month period in 2019, Pugh insists not that much is different in her life. “And I basically had Emily Watson and Emma Thompson talking to me about why the industry works and why it doesn't. Like, I really, really, really want to be a gritty, greasy toothed, kind of hairy woman with a wax linen skirt that crunches when she gets on the horse,” Pugh said.
