Brevard County Deputy of the Year Michael Fultz recently resigned from the sheriff’s office following allegations of “egregious misconduct,” records obtained by News 6 reveal.

The cameras take still pictures of license plates and collect details, including a car’s description. Oviedo police said that the information is searchable for 30 days before it is automatically deleted.

During an interview with detectives, Brooks explained he cut down the camera because he "does not agree with them and was having a rough week," according to the arrest affidavit.

A series of Flock license plate reader cameras have been vandalized across Central Florida in recent weeks, with incidents reported in Volusia and Lake counties as debate continues over the use of the surveillance technology.
