"That’s the entire purpose of this bill, trusting Floridians and allowing us to make that choice for ourselves.”DeSantis, a Republican, called the special legislative session on vaccine mandates as he wages a legal and media campaign against vaccine mandates pushed by Democratic President Joe Biden. The state health department, which is led by Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, who opposes mandates, will be tasked with defining standards for the exemptions. Additionally, it bars schools and governments in the state from having vaccine mandates and allows parents to sue schools with masking requirements. Masks ordered for most Florida students, defying DeSantis
A majority of school board members in Orange County told the superintendent on Tuesday to require most students to wear masks, and agreed with her recommendation to keep the mandate through Oct. 30. State officials have threatened to withhold funding equal to school board salaries if a district doesn’t comply. “We will not be pressured by the governor or the state Board of Education when the safety and health of our students is involved. How Gators should handle improving Seminoles
Just a few weeks ago, Florida State looked like a sure win on the Florida schedule, maybe even a comfortable blowout for the Gators in The Swamp. Whats not known is whether the Gators start fast because they havent for most of the season. The longer the Seminoles stay in the game, the harder its going to be to vanquish them. If the number rises much above that, the Gators are going to have a hard time getting off the field and preventing the Seminoles from putting up enough points to pull the upset.
