Prescott signed a $160 million, four-year contract in March. Gilbert made his first career start after the Cowboys signed him following Prescott's injury last year. “It’s part of being a backup quarterback, right?” Garrett said after practice Wednesday.

Dalton will be the first Dallas player to go on the COVID-19 list since before the season. Dalton signed a one-year contract to be Prescott’s backup. He was Prescott’s backup for three seasons before the Cowboys signed Dalton and released him.
