Pitt's ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, won a supporting-actress Oscar in 1999 — years before she and Pitt got together. Pitt was the only man in the category who had never won an acting Oscar.

Called the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, the honor is given to someone whose humanitarian work has made a difference in the industry. Davis has spent years battling gender inequality that can be seen on screen. Davis joins the ranks among past Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award winners like Audrey Hepburn, Oprah Winfrey and Frank Sinatra.
