GEORGE PICKENS

Fantasy Football: Impressive rookies make their cases for 2023 drafts in Week 18

Every week of an NFL season is weird in its own way, and Sunday’s Week 18 had its share of quirkiness. All four of those rookies cracked the top 15 at the wideout position in Sunday’s early window. Nothing was expected when the Niners selected quarterback Purdy with the final pick of the 2022 Draft, but Mr. I realize you would probably like projected 2023 rankings for these ascending talents, and don't worry, they're coming soon. The NFL is in so many ways a young man's game, and we have a lot to look forward to.

Steelers honor Franco Harris by rallying past Raiders 13-10

PITTSBURGH — (AP) — Kenny Pickett threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to George Pickens with 46 seconds remaining, and the Pittsburgh Steelers capped three days of tributes to the late Franco Harris with a 13-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night. On the same night the Steelers retired Harris' No. Tight end Pat Freiermuth caught seven passes for 66 yards and Najee Harris had 95 total yards as the Steelers won for the fifth time in seven games. The Steelers paid tribute to Harris in various ways during a bitterly cold night. Defensive captain Cam Heyward ran onto the field waving a massive flag with Harris' number, and Pickett even shouted “Franco!

Fantasy Football: Sit/Start advice for Week 13 of the NFL season

Drake London hasn't reached 50 receiving yards since Week 3, while Olamide Zaccheaus became the first Atlanta pass catcher to top 90 receiving yards all season last week. The Broncos are also allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, including the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game (12.2) to the position. His schedule eases up significantly Sunday, when the Browns get a Texans defense allowing the most fantasy points to running backs this season. The Chargers have been gashed for an NFL-high 5.4 YPC and the second-most EPA/rush while allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. That includes 120 last week to James Conner, who previously hadn't rushed for 70 yards in a game this season.

Fantasy Football Six Pack: Is George Pickens the NFL's next potential superstar WR?

He gets Atlanta this week, a defense that's allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers and the second-most receiving yards to the position. 60 - David Montgomery delivered a good-not-great performance for fantasy purposes last Sunday, carrying 14 times for 79 yards and catching three balls for 34. But he produced a few exceptional highlights along the way and gained 60 of his 79 rushing yards after contact. This week, he's at home facing an absolutely dreadful Packers run defense; Green Bay ranks next-to-last in rushing yards allowed (154.8 YPG) and they give up 5.0 yards per carry. Hockenson has been targeted 34 times in his four games for Minnesota and he's had at least five receptions every week.

Why are NFL wide receivers nowadays so good, so soon after coming into the league?

All throughout middle school and high school in Alabama, Pickens watched and learned from some of the best wide receivers in the NFL through a computer or a phone screen. “Coming out of high school, [Wilson] had a pretty decent foundation just for understanding how to control his body, running routes and all those things,” Carter said. It’s no longer a prerequisite to be at least 6 feet tall and more than 200 pounds to be a top-flight NFL receiver. He says he has trained more than 200 NFL wideouts, and remembers the social media video well. Turner has helped train NFL players at various positions, including Chad Johnson, Devonta Freeman and Adam Thielen.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 5: Scouring for pickups after latest rash of injuries

So in all likelihood, you're gonna need to hit the fantasy waiver wire this week. Gallup has an 1,100-yard season to his credit with Dak Prescott as his quarterback, so his fantasy potential is well established. It's hard to believe there's not at least one manager in every 12-team league who should be adding Gallup this week. Edmonds saved his fantasy week with a 7-yard TD reception, but he was decisively out-touched by the guy who now appears to sit atop the team's backfield hierarchy. Over the next three weeks, they face the Texans, Colts and Giants, which seems like a layup line for fantasy purposes.

Mitch Trubisky will make his debut in the Steelers-Browns rivalry.

Deep trouble? Steelers look to revive sluggish pass game

PITTSBURGH — (AP) — Mitch Trubisky won the starting quarterback job in Pittsburgh during training camp by basically not losing it. He didn't turn the ball over during the preseason and won raves from the coaching staff for his decision-making. “We’ve got playmakers, young playmakers, guys with a lot of talent, guys that want to be the reasons why we’re successful,” Tomlin sad. The Steelers got off to a similar sluggish start last season and recovered to make the playoffs. Canada used the words “grow” or “growth” multiple times on Tuesday, essentially saying the Steelers need to trust the process.

Fantasy Football Week 3: TE rankings

It seems like we find ourselves in this exact position every fantasy football season: Seeking a late-round — or even mid-round — savior at tight end. I mean, just think about the wide receiver position in comparison to the tight ends. You can get down all the way to our 40th-ranked wide receiver before you think to yourself, "Yeah, I can't start these guys." Freiermuth is currently the sixth highest-scoring tight end in fantasy with 20.2 points — just 9.5 less than Kelce, the No. Here's the tight end position — check out where Freiermuth and the rest of the TEs landed in our analysts' rankings for Week 3:powered by FantasyProsECR ™ -

Podlesny's FG lifts Georgia past Cincinnati in Peach Bowl

Georgia place kicker Jack Podlesny, offensive player of the game, stands with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart after the Peach Bowl NCAA college football game against Cincinnati, Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, in Atlanta. 6 Cincinnati its only loss of the season with a dramatic 24-21 victory in the Peach Bowl. Daniels, a Southern California transfer, passed for 392 yards while improving to a perfect 4-0 in four starts for Georgia. Podlesny’s winning kick tied a Peach Bowl record for longest field goal and gave Georgia a 22-21 lead. “I would feel much better if we just played our best game,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said.

Trask, Florida upend Georgia 44-28 in 'Cocktail Party'

His Florida teammates took it to another level, running and leaping into the stands. Trask had another four-touchdown night, becoming the first quarterback in Southeastern Conference history to accomplish the feat in five consecutive games, and the eighth-ranked Gators beat No. Trask and the Gators took advantage, burning Georgia repeatedly with wheel routes while overcoming a 14-0 deficit.
