Reinhart, Bobrovsky lead Panthers past skidding Devils 4-2
NEWARK, N.J. — (AP) — Sam Reinhart scored twice and Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves as the Florida Panthers beat New Jersey 4-2 Saturday night, handing the first-place Devils their fifth straight loss. Bobrovsky, making his sixth straight start, got his 343rd career victory and improved to 18-5-1 against the Devils. Erik Haula had a goal and an assist and John Marino also scored for the Devils, who are 0-4-1 on their current skid. Reinhart gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 8:54 of the first period, finishing off a passing sequence with Aleksander Barkov and Ekblad. Reinhart restored the two-goal margin with 41 seconds remaining in the second, tipping a shot by Ekblad past Schmid for his 11th goal of the season.

Nelson scored from the right side off a pass from Romanov to tied it with 4:23 left, giving him a point in seven straight games. Romanov also leveled Devils forward Miles Wood with a body check at 12:05 of the second, sparking a melee in near the Islanders net. It was the sixth time this season — and fourth in the last six games — the Islanders scored two less than a minute apart.

Dylan Guenther and Clayton Keller scored for Arizon, which had won the first three games of its season-high 14-game road trip. Boqvist put the Devils ahead 3-2 with 8:41 left as he converted his own rebound for his first of the season. New Jersey Devils fans started the season yelling, “fire Lindy” chants directed at head coach Lindy Ruff. Keller beat Nico Hischier and scored a backhand goal 8:19 into the second to tie it 2-2 on another power-play goal.

The Devils won for the fifth time in six games after dropping the first two games of the season. New Jersey also denied defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado’s NHL-best power play. Hughes scored his third of the season on the power play at 2:59 of the third, shooting the puck past Pavel Francouz. The assist was a team-leading 10th for Brattm who has points in all eight Devils games this season and leads New Jersey with 13 points.Francouz made 22 saves.
