Chiefs dump Seahawks 24-10, stay tied for AFC's best record
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — (AP) — Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, Kansas City shut down Geno Smith and Seattle's slumping offense and the Chiefs rolled to a 24-10 victory over the Seahawks on Saturday. Kenneth Walker III was the biggest bright spot for Seattle, running for 107 yards but failing to reach the end zone. Kansas City has won 16 consecutive regular-season games against NFC opponents. While the Chiefs struggled to extend their lead in the second half, the Seahawks were incapable of trimming it.
wftv.comDaily Fantasy Football Primer: Pay up for King Henry in Week 16
The Texans have ceded the most fantasy points to running backs and the second-most rushing touchdowns (19) this season. Henry has put up far better fantasy production during Tennessee wins, and the Titans are five-point favorites this week. of his passes and put up top-three QB stats against a Texans defense allowing the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks last week. Dalvin Cook ($28) vs. New York GiantsCook has been a fantasy disappointment this season, but he's dominated usage in Minnesota's backfield. McKinnon gets a fading Seattle team that's allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns and fantasy points to running backs, so he's undervalued with Clyde Edwards-Helaire out.
wftv.comFantasy Football Fact or Fluke: Who could be an unlikely playoff hero?
It begs the question as we head toward Week 16 though, who should you trust? Isiah Pacheco got more carries than McKinnon in Week 15, and they were equal with one carry apiece in the red zone. Despite the Vikings solidifying their pseudo-dominance with this dramatic victory, Osborn is not a player I'm trusting my fantasy season to. Jefferson, Cousins and Dalvin Cook are the only Minnesota guys I truly trust in my Week 16 roster. With a tough tilt against division rival Philadelphia on tap for Week 16, Brown is someone I'd rather not have to start.
wftv.comWeek 15 Fantasy Football Recap: McKinnon is the answer in KC, Trevor Lawrence is making a leap & takeaways from Saturday
Subscribe to the Yahoo Fantasy Football ForecastApple Podcasts | Spotify | Stitcher | Google PodcastsMatt Harmon is joined by Scott Pianowski to recap the Sunday NFL action, which included a lot of exciting finishes but not a lot of big fantasy football performances, and talk about their takeaways from the Saturday games, as well. The guys kick off the show by talking about last week’s RB1, who might also end up this week’s RB1, Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon. Matt and Scott really only talk about the NFC South teams because they have to. It’s that time of the year and they’re over watching bad teams, and the entire NFC South is bad. Diontae Johnson, on the other hand, should catch more passes but not go in the end zone…for history’s sake.
wftv.comMcKinnon's 26-yard run in OT lifts Chiefs over Texans 30-24
HOUSTON — (AP) — Jerick McKinnon had a 26-yard touchdown run in overtime and the Kansas City Chiefs got three touchdowns from Patrick Mahomes in a 30-24 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday that clinched their seventh straight AFC West title. Texans quarterback Davis Mills fumbled on a scramble on Houston’s first play, and it was recovered by Kansas City's Willie Gay on the Texans’ 26. The Chiefs had a chance to win it in regulation, but Harrison Butker’s 51-yard attempt was wide right. The Texans dropped their ninth straight game for their longest skid since losing the final 14 games of the 2013 season. Mario Addison forced a fumble by Isiah Pacheco later in the second quarter and the Texans recovered on the Kansas City 17.
wftv.comFantasy Football Sleepers: Overlooked options for your Week 11 lineup
Rachaad White and Cole Kmet came through for us last week, if you're willing to accept them as fantasy sleepers. In a messy tight end week — fantasy managers just lost Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz — Conklin makes sense as a temporary option. Fantasy managers will have to make some uncomfortable dart throws on the flank this weekend. Collins probably doesn't have smash potential, but the arrow is pointing in the right direction. If you play in a one-quarterback format, Dalton and Winston probably aren’t a direct part of your life.
wftv.comMahomes leads Chiefs to 42-21 wild-card romp over Steelers
Patrick Mahomes threw for 404 yards and five touchdowns, Travis Kelce caught a TD pass and threw another one, and the Chiefs sent Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger into his expected retirement with a 42-21 win in the wild-card round of the playoffs Sunday night.
Big days from Wilson, Metcalf lead Seahawks past 49ers 37-27
Wilson threw four more touchdown passes, two to Metcalf, and the Seahawks rebounded from their first loss of the season with a resounding 37-27 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Wilson and Metcalf tormented San Francisco and its banged up secondary as the top-scoring offense in the league continued to pile up points. Wilson found rookie DeeJay Dallas on a 2-yard TD pass after San Francisco went three-and-out to open the second half for a 20-7 lead. The momentum from two straight wins for San Francisco (4-4) evaporated in a hurry as more injuries continued to pile. San Francisco played without starters Deebo Samuel, Jeff Wilson Jr., Kwon Alexander and safety Jaquiski Tartt.
49ers blast Jets 31-13, but lose Garoppolo, Bosa, Mostert
Still, short-handed San Francisco had enough to beat the inept New York Jets. Defensive end Nick Bosa and defensive tackle Solomon Thomas were both carted off the field two plays apart with left knee injuries in the first quarter. Two plays later, Thomas was carted off — also with a left knee injury — after an 8-yard reception by Chris Hogan. San Francisco ended the 14-play possession with an 18-yard catch by Jordan Reed for the first of his two TD grabs. ... San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, a first-round draft pick, had two catches for 21 yards in his NFL debut.
Agent: RB Raheem Mostert requests trade from 49ers
San Francisco 49ers postseason breakout star Raheem Mostert requested a trade from the team after being unable to renegotiate his contract. Agent Brett Tessler made the request public on Wednesday after talks with the 49ers failed to lead to a new deal to replace the three-year contract Mostert signed in 2019 when he was still mostly a special teams standout. After months of unproductive talks with the 49ers about fairly adjusting Raheem Mosterts contract (which paid him for special teams) we have requested a trade, Tessler wrote on Twitter. The 49ers already traded running back Matt Breida to Miami earlier this offseason, leaving Mostert, Coleman, Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson as the veteran halfbacks on the roster. He led the 49ers in rushing with 772 yards and ranked second in the NFL to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson by averaging 5.64 yards per carry.
