Fantasy Football Week 4 Sleepers: Richie James, wide awake in New York
Perhaps you’ll add a player to your fantasy bench as depth, but won't deploy him this week. But Stevenson has a significant snap advantage over the last two weeks (62 percent, versus Harris' 39 percent), and last week Stevenson was the busier back, especially in the passing game (4-28-0). RB Jeff Wilson vs. RamsIf you wind up playing the single DFS slate for Monday, Wilson at $14 is impossible to look past. WR Alex Pierce vs. TitansThe Colts are desperate for a third pitch in their offense, and maybe the rookie Pierce is ready to fill that gap. Pittsburgh has been average when it comes to checking tight ends this year; even with the Jets likely to turn back to Zach Wilson, Conklin retains his Circle of Trust privileges.wftv.com
Fantasy Football Week 4: Defense rankings
Let's get the obvious out of the way: Having to play a fantasy defense every week is hard. You might think in your head that you've made the right choice only to watch that defense get crushed. On that note, the Pittsburgh Steelers stop unit has one of the better matchups available in Week 4. So, while the Jets aren't the punching bag of yesteryear, a strong Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST — they rank fifth in fantasy scoring at the position this year — could have a big day against Gang Green. Here are the defenses below — check out where Pittsburgh and the rest of the D/STs landed in our fantasy football analysts' rankings for Week 4:powered by FantasyProsECR ™ -wftv.com
Fantasy Football Week 3: Joe Flacco and other glorious sleepers
Perhaps you’ll add a player to your fantasy bench as depth, but don't deploy him this week. Joe Flacco, QB, Jets (vs. Bengals)We spent the summer telling you how wonderful Elijah Moore is. The Jets receiver room — Corey Davis isn't bad, either — can drag Flacco into fantasy relevance. That could be an accelerant to a possible Smith breakthrough year. Week 3 pits the Eagles against Carson Wentz — Washington's offense has fun pieces, but Wentz will make some mistakes every week, too.wftv.com
Fantasy Football Week 3: QB rankings
What's up with Joe Burrow? The young star quarterback has amassed just 19.4 total fantasy points through two games this season, behind the likes of Joe Flacco, Jared Goff and Tua Tagovailoa. But maybe things will turn around in Week 3 when Joe Burrow and the Bengals take on the New York Jets. Maybe the Burrow explosion we're waiting for happens in Week 3, and all will be right with the world again. Here's the quarterback position below — check out where Burrow and the rest of the QBs landed in our analysts' rankings for Week 3:powered by FantasyProsECR ™ -wftv.com
Flacco rallies Jets to stunning 31-30 comeback over Browns
CLEVELAND — (AP) — The New York Jets were less than two minutes away from another loss. On third-and-10, Flacco — who had four TD passes one week after a rough opener — found a streaking Wilson over the middle for the winner. “Joe is 37 years old and he’s been in the league a long time," Jets coach Robert Saleh said. Flacco hit Corey Davis for a 66-yard TD with 1:22 left to pull the Jets (1-1) within six at 30-24. Flacco improved to 18-3 in his career against the Browns, the most wins for the 37-year-old QB against any team.wftv.com
NFL Winners and Losers: Tyreek Hill trade has revived Tua Tagovailoa and Dolphins
Give Tagovailoa credit, but also give the Dolphins front office credit for understanding how Hill would change their entire offense. The Dolphins got Hill, hired offensive guru Mike McDaniel as their new head coach and they look better than they have in a long time. LOSERSCarson Wentz: The thing about Wentz isn't that he's bad each week. It's that he's bad sometimes and you never know which Wentz will show up from week to week. This week, it was bad Wentz, at least in the first half.wftv.com

It was a monumental meltdown for the Browns, who, at one point, had a win probability of 99.9 percent. The Jets improve to 1-1 with the win, and have done that despite not having last year's first-round pick Zach Wilson under center.wftv.com
Fantasy Football: Sit/Start tips for Week 2 of the NFL season
Fantasy managers should remain patient … Devin Duvernay scored two touchdowns last week but saw just four targets on 18 routes; he shouldn't be anywhere near fantasy starting lineups. Flaws remain, but Wentz is playing indoors this week against a Lions defense that allowed an NFL-high 7.6 YPA and 31 passing scores last season. Only one run defense was graded worse in DVOA than Washington's in Week 1, and D'Andre Swift has missed multiple practices with a sprained ankle. He was first in route run involvement rate, which resulted in a career-high five catches. If he continues to see this type of route involvement with Russell Wilson now his QB, a nice fantasy season will follow.wftv.com

Jets QB Wilson out until at least Week 4, Flacco to start
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — (AP) — Joe Flacco will huddle up for the New York Jets against his former team. Flacco starting this week is not unexpected, as it appeared to be trending that way for a few weeks. Wilson will work with the training staff this week, Saleh said, and then slowly start resuming practice during the next few weeks. Taking the cautious approach in Week 1, New York will turn to Flacco — who will take on his former team. A hip injury midway through the 2018 season put Flacco on the sideline — and Lamar Jackson into the starting lineup.wftv.com

(AP Photo/Matt Rourke) (Matt Rourke)FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — (AP) — New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will have arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee Tuesday in Los Angeles. Wilson suffered a bone bruise and torn meniscus during the Jets' second offensive series Friday night in their preseason opener at Philadelphia. The procedure to repair the meniscus, which will be performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache, will determine how long Wilson will be sidelined. It was initially feared that Wilson suffered a serious — and potentially season-ending — when he went down when he tried to juke past the Eagles' Nakobe Dean.wftv.com

(AP Photo/Dennis Waszak Jr.) (Dennis Waszak Jr.)FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — (AP) — Joe Flacco is back with the New York Jets — and he envisions himself back under center as their starting quarterback soon. If doctors determine Wilson will be able to return after just two games, he'll stay off IR. New York plays at Indianapolis next Thursday night, and Flacco could be up to speed enough on the Jets' offense by then to start if needed.wftv.com

(AP Photo/Steven Senne) (Steven Senne)NEW YORK — (AP) — The New York Jets will try to turn around their season without Zach Wilson for a few games. To help fill in for Wilson, the Jets acquired veteran Joe Flacco from Philadelphia for a conditional sixth-round draft pick, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal. NFL Network first reported the trade for Flacco, who started four games for the Jets last season when Sam Darnold was injured. The 35-year-old Johnson was signed during training camp, but he hasn't played in an NFL game since 2018 with Washington.wftv.com
Nobody comes for free in NFL free agency that begins Monday
Regardless, on Monday, two days before the NFL's 2021 business year begins, the 32 teams and agents for the players will be making deals. “Legal tampering, and tampering is illegal? AdOf course, free agency always is a buyer-beware situation. AdVoila: Lavonte David, a key linebacker, was re-signed, and several other key guys in the title run could be back. “We do have some money from a cap standpoint that we can spend; but again, it’s an interesting year.
Tom Brady has denied 27 QBs in unparalleled playoff success
Brady is shooting for his seventh ring when he leads the Buccaneers (14-5) against the reigning champion Chiefs (16-2) in Super Bowl 55 on Sunday. Brady's postseason record includes a 33-11 mark, 14 conference championship appearances and 10 trips to the Super Bowl. If the Bucs dethrone the champs, Mahomes would become the sixth quarterback Brady has beaten multiple times in the playoffs. Although he’s not showing his age, 43, Brady will be the oldest to play in a Super Bowl, displacing Colts kicker Matt Stover, who was 42 in Super Bowl 44. Unlike Warner, he wasn't going to get ahead of himself and talk about anything but the Super Bowl title in front of him.
Allen, Jackson set for playoff showdown as Bills host Ravens
FILE - Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) talks with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (8) following a 24-17 Ravens win in an NFL football game in Orchard Park, N.Y., in this Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, file photo. It happened in the 2018 season opener, when the then-raw rookie Bills quarterback was shoved into the Ravens' sideline. Much like Jackson, Allen prefers putting the past behind him and focusing on the next challenge. “We’ve had our backs against the wall since the Pittsburgh game,” Harbaugh said. The Bills limited the Ravens to only 118 yards rushing in last year’s meeting, a 24-17 Ravens win.
Harbaugh, Ravens happily travel road to success in playoffs
Home-field advantage in the playoffs is overrated for Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who has found that the road to success in the postseason usually involves packing his bags and getting the heck out of Baltimore. (AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez, FIle)Home-field advantage in the playoffs is overrated for Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who has found that the road to success in the postseason usually involves packing his bags and getting the heck out of Baltimore. In fact, Harbaugh has a better road record in the playoffs (8-5) than at home (2-2). For Harbaugh and the Ravens, there's nothing like a good old road trip in January. Asked to explain his ascent to the top of the list of road wins for an NFL coach, Harbaugh came up empty.
Patriots storm back to beat Jets 30-27, end 4-game skid
We’re not going to lay down.”Newton had two touchdown runs, with the second tying it at 27 with 1:57 remaining. A miscue by the Jets on special teams kept the Patriots’ next drive alive. But the Jets were called for 12 men on the field — resulting in a first down for the Patriots. Damien Harris ran for 21 yards to get New England into Jets territory. Jets: Rookie left tackle Mekhi Becton left in the first half with a chest injury, but coach Adam Gase was unsure if it was a torn pectoral.
Dolphins turn up heat on Jets and embattled Gase, 24-0
The Jets (0-6) became the NFL's only winless team and continued their worst start since 1996, increasing the heat on embattled coach Adam Gase. The Dolphins blanked the Jets for the first time since the January 1983 AFC championship game, which they won 14-0. The two teams were a combined 0 for 19 on third downs before the Jets finally converted with 11 minutes left. The Dolphins' only third-down conversion came on a completion by Tagovailoa, who went 2 for 2 for 9 yards. ANTHEMRunning back Ty Jackson was the only player kneeling for the Jets during “The Star-Spangled Banner.”The Dolphins stayed in the locker room.
The Latest: Brady, Bucs roll to win, give Packers first loss
Brady threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns, including one to Gronkowski, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rolled to a 38-10 win over the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers. Brady hit Rob Gronkowski for a 12-yard touchdown with 1:02 left in the second quarter to cap the rally. It's been a tough afternoon so far for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Dolphins had a 21-0 halftime lead after Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 147 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Board has movement in his limbs after suffering a concussion and neck injury in the team's win over Washington.
Jets' Flacco to start again for injured Darnold vs. Dolphins
(AP Photo/Frank Franklin II)NEW YORK – Joe Flacco will get his second straight start at quarterback for the New York Jets in place of the injured Sam Darnold. Gase said Darnold, who was injured in the Jets' 37-28 loss to Denver on Oct. 1, would not practice Wednesday. Darnold left the game against the Broncos for a few plays but returned and finished the game. “I think he's better than what he was last week,” Gase said of Darnold. “I do think he's a quick healer and there's no doubt any of us would ever say he's anything but tough.

(AP Photo/Seth Wenig)EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Arizona Cardinals certainly came to the right place to get back on the winning track. Having Kyler Murray and the offense put up nearly 500 yards against the hapless and winless Jets was almost predictable. “I don’t want anyone on the team to feel satisfied with what happened today," said Murray, who threw for 380 yards. Jets: play at Miami next Sunday as NFL reorganizes schedule due to coronavirus pandemic.
Falcons WR Julio Jones out again with hamstring injury

Broncos top winless Jets 37-28 for first victory of season
On third-and-6 and the Jets leading by one, Quinnen Williams sacked Brett Rypien — but grabbed the quarterback’s helmet and prolonged the drive. Brian Poole then intercepted Rypien, making his first NFL start, on the Broncos’ next possession, giving the Jets the ball at Denver’s 44. Darnold gave the Jets their first lead of the season with a dazzling run that would make running back teammates Frank Gore and Le'Veon Bell proud. Darnold was able to come back early in the second quarter on the Jets' next series — and was promptly sacked again. The Jets took advantage — eventually.
Jets QB Darnold leaves game after hard sack, then returns
New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (14) is sacked by Denver Broncos' A.J. Darnold handed off on the next play, then headed to the sideline and into the locker room. Veteran Joe Flacco, in his first game as New York's backup, took over, but Darnold came back early in the second period. He looked to be severely hurt, but came back for the end of the next series, taking another sack. The Jets also lost defensive lineman Steve McLendon (knee); cornerback Bless Austin (calf); tackle Chuma Edoga (shoulder) in the first period.
Teams sending QBs packing in final cuts despite pandemic
The theory that NFL teams would go with three quarterbacks to start the pandemic-impacted season took a hit Saturday. Lots of third-stringers were sent packing as the 32 teams got down to the 53-man limit. "The most important thing is to kind of move forward and not look back, Dolphins coach Brian Flores said. Georgia linebacker Tae Crowder, the final player taken in April's draft, is on the roster. As a child growing up in Georgia, it was always my dream to play in the NFL, Watson wrote on social media.
Jets' Flacco 'embracing' backup role but not done as starter
After injuries shortened his last two seasons, Flacco is now in New York with a new role: as a backup to Sam Darnold. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum, File)NEW YORK Joe Flacco has hoisted the Lombardi Trophy and been the Super Bowl MVP. Now with the New York Jets, Flacco is merely a 35-year-old backup coming off an injury and tasked with helping Sam Darnold achieve the kind of success he has enjoyed in his pro career. I think in the role Im in now, you can definitely have a good, positive effect on the team." Listen, I dont think there are any backups in this league that dont have aspirations to be a starting quarterback," Flacco said.

(Photo by Dustin Bradford/Getty Images)DENVER - Leonard Fournette ran for a career-high 225 yards and Josh Lambo kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired, sending the Jacksonville Jaguars past the winless Denver Broncos 26-24 Sunday. The Broncos finally ended their sack drought, dropping Minshew five times, but suddenly they couldn't stop the run. That set up Lambo's second field goal, cutting Jacksonville's deficit to 17-6 at the half. Rookie tight end Noah Fant scored his first career TD on a 25-yard catch-and-run dumpoff from Flacco, who also hit Sutton for a first-half TD.
