MONTVILLE, Conn. — A Connecticut man is facing a list of charges after officers said he crashed his car, threatened officers with a gun, and then attacked a K9 officer that was sent to chase him. >> Read more trending newsIn a Facebook post, Connecticut State Police in Montville said they went to assist at the scene where a car had crashed into a guardrail. That prompted troopers to send a K9 officer into the woods after the suspect. Troopers said Presley Almanzar-DeJesus attacked the K9 when it reached him, punching the animal and trying to gouge its eyes, WFSB reported. Almanzar-DeJesus was charged with 14 crimes, including cruelty to animals, and his bond was set at $250,000, WTIC reported.

(CNN) - Two men who were stopped in a truck containing 420 pounds of marijuana are under arrest, thanks to Connecticut State Troopers and a K9 unit that's winning praise for sniffing it all out. The truck was stopped Friday while it was headed southbound on Interstate 95, in Darien. The two suspects, 23-year-old Vahe Manjikian and 27-year-old Kevin Conrado of Los Angeles, have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
