2 thrown from motorcycle, killed during Florida crash
LAKELAND, Fla. - A man and a woman were killed in a motorcycle crash in Florida, officials said. The Ledger reports that Phillip Mouser, 24, and his passenger, Tayler Rozelle, 22, died Sunday night at the scene of the Lakeland crash. Police said Mouser and Rozelle were traveling through an intersection when a car made a left turn in front of them. The motorcycle hit the car, throwing the riders, according to police. The crash remains under investigation.
90 days? Florida man sentenced for killing motorcyclist
BARTOW, Fla. - A Florida man who struck and killed a motorcyclist while trying to pass two cars on a rural road was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a year without driving. The Ledger reports Jarrod Witt Lee, 33, was facing up to a year in jail Wednesday for culpable negligence in the 2017 death of motorcyclist Philip Brown. Lee's car hit the motorcycle head-on, and Brown, 40, was thrown from his bike and died, officials said. Body parts found inside gator after Florida man discovered dead
FORT MEADE, Fla. - Officials are investigating the death of a man discovered floating in a Florida canal with some of his remains found inside an alligator. The Ledger reports that a person found the body floating west of Fort Meade and saw an alligator had parts of it in its mouth. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission trapped and killed the alligator to perform a necropsy, which revealed that one of Ford's hands and one of his feet were in the gator's stomach. An autopsy revealed Ford had other injuries caused by the gator and apparently drowned, though an official cause of death has yet to be determined.
