Video shared with News 6 shows a Sumter County school bus getting clipped by a CSX train last week. The video, taken by student Emma Steuer, shows the bus, which was carrying 29 students, moving slightly forward from the railroad crossing just before the train passes it.

The Sumter County School District superintendent said the train clipped the back of the bus, and the driver is no longer employed with the district.

First responders were called on Thursday afternoon after a train “clipped” a Sumter County school bus, according to the district superintendent.

Sumter County School officials are hoping to regain the trust of the district, parents and students after a 50-plus page report revealed the district had created so-called 'shell schools' to help with school grades.

The investigation began after the Department of Children and Families received a report on April 21 and alerted a deputy assigned to Lake Panasoffkee Elementary School.
