Fantasy Basketball: Players with big upside to stash right now
By Mike Barner, RotoWireSpecial to Yahoo SportsWe've already seen the upside that stashing players can bring in fantasy basketball. Isaiah Jackson, Indiana Pacers (71 percent available)When Myles Turner went down with an injury last season, Jackson showed the type of upside he could bring to the table. Over his final 20 games, Jackson averaged 11.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 20 minutes per game. However, with Turner mostly healthy, Jackson has only averaged 16 minutes per game this season. He posted 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks against the Hawks, then followed that up with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks against the Grizzlies.

wftv.comSilent films to live on in movie theater lobby card project
CONCORD, N.H. — (AP) — “Missing Millions" is a 1922 silent film with a darkly prescient title — like the vast majority from that era, the movie all but vanished in the ensuing century, survived mostly by lobby cards. “Ninety percent of all silent films have been lost because they were made on nitrate film, which is flammable and explodable,” Cleveland told The Associated Press. Often displayed on an easel or framed and meant to be seen up close, the lobby cards promoted current films that were playing, as well as coming attractions. They endured for decades, with production of lobby cards ending in the late 1970s or early 1980s, Walters-Johnston wrote. Williams said that the project is invested in both cultivating new scholarship, and an awareness about how endangered media history is.
wftv.com2 San Francisco officers charged with destroying evidence
SAN FRANCISCO — (AP) — Two San Francisco police officers and a retired officer working part-time at the department have been charged in two separate cases with destroying evidence, stealing a machine gun and other charges, authorities announced Tuesday. But instead of collecting the items as evidence, Lyons and Sien shredded the credit cards and IDs and Lyons flushed the alleged drugs down a hotel toilet, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office said in a statement. Both officers, who turned themselves in to authorities Tuesday, have been charged with destroying evidence. “San Francisco residents trust the police to conduct the investigative work so my office can bring cases that keep the city safe,” District Attorney Chesa Boudin said. “We encourage everyone to remember that these individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise beyond a reasonable doubt,” Tracy McCray, acting president of the San Francisco Police Officers Association said in a statement.
wftv.comUNC gets best of Duke in epic 3rd meeting at Final Four
NCAA Duke North Carolina Basketball North Carolina guard Caleb Love (2) shoots against Duke center Mark Williams (15) during the second half of a college basketball game in the semifinal round of the Men's Final Four NCAA tournament, Saturday, April 2, 2022, in New Orleans. North Carolina outlasted Duke 81-77 in Saturday night’s Final Four after shooting 50% and making 7 of 13 3-pointers after halftime in an iron-willed performance, one that ultimately ended the Hall of Fame career of retiring Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. When it was over, the Superdome — filled with tense Tar Heels and Blue Devils fans — erupted into a roar as UNC began an on-court celebration while the Blue Devils began to dejectedly untuck their jerseys on their way back to the bench. The Blue Devils imposed their will in an impressive blowout road win in February, only to see the Tar Heels come through with a win in Krzyzewski’s final home game at Duke. And they kept the pressure on Duke every time down the court, particularly Love with 22 points after the break.
wftv.comRoach makes his move with a March surge for Blue Devils
That includes Sunday's NCAA Tournament win against Michigan State to secure a spot in this week's Sweet 16, when Roach finished with 15 points and a critical late 3-pointer in a comeback victory. “Just the biggest thing for me is keeping that same confidence and consistency and the hard work,” Roach said. Yet as they prepare to face third-seeded Texas Tech on Thursday in San Francisco, the Blue Devils are getting a major boost from Roach down the stretch, too. After averaging 7.5 points on 38% shooting through the first 30 games, Roach is averaging 13.2 points on 53% shooting in the last six. Those plays all stood out to Michigan State Hall of Famer Tom Izzo.
wftv.comChina is Russia's best hope to blunt sanctions, but wary
China is the only friend that might help Russia blunt the impact of economic sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine, but President Xi Jinping’s government is giving no sign it might be willing to risk its own access to U.S. and European markets by doing too much.

(Alexei Nikolsky, Sputnik, Kremlin Pool Photo via AP, File)GENEVA – Russia’s status as an Olympic team, and its reputation as a serial cheater in international sports, goes on trial next week in more legal fallout from the country's state-backed doping saga. WADA would let Russian athletes compete only if not implicated in doping or cover-ups. WADA says details of doping tests and emails were deleted or changed, and false trails created to frame whistleblowers. The International Olympic Committee refused WADA’s request to ban Russia outright from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. RUSADA rejected WADA’s proposed punishment, and Russian Olympic officials later fired the RUSADA chief executive who acknowledged the wrongdoing.
